what do you think about an age limit of 35 yrs for pro boxers?

in switzerland, where only few boxers exist;theres such a rule where boxers who are over 35 yrs are not allowed to box anymore.

sense or nonsense? yes or no?

For some people it would be helpful. There are a lot of guys who are way past their best and probably a lot of club circuit guys over 35 who should not be fighting.

However, some of the best fighters in the world right now are over 35. JMM, Hopkins, Vitali. Those guys are extremely competitive and as such a blanket rule banning everyone over 35 would hurt the sport.

But there needs to be some kind of provisions to keep guys like hearns and holyfeld from still fighting as well as all the unknown club level fighters who are also still out there when they shouldnt be.

Boxing over 35, that's how legends are born.

I dislike Hopkins. But he's role model in a sense that at 43. You can DO what he's done.

And how old was George Foreman when he became 2x heavyweight champion? 45?

Hopkins, Mosley, Calzaghe & Marquez! Those guys are some of the best, are you insisting they retire too?

Whether you rate Calzaghe or not. He throws some punches. And at 35 he could easily outwork most 20 year olds and go on longer.

35 is young for boxers these days maybe an age limit of 40 would be better, u cant still be improving by that age!

They need to come up with a senior division for the fighters over 35. Put the over the hill fighters that never retire in there. Have Hearns and Bowe and a bunch others. Make an exception for Bernard Hopkins. He needs to stay in the under 35 club. Calzache has beat two fighters over 35 in his last two fights. Is he supposed to get credit for doing something great?
