for me this will be the key. Cotto has alot of pop but he was fighting on the backfoot all night, and was unable to slow the iron-chinned Margo down when his shots were landing. I mean against Cotto, Margo would be throwing a punch and get hit flush but his momentum would not stop at all. Can he do this against Sugar Shane?
No and I hope Shane knows this and can accept this so he can develop a gameplan that does not centre around landing the odd big shot in the hope for slowing Margarito down. He needs to revert back to his old flurry and move approach..or flurry and tie up..with the odd loopy right hand bomb catching the attention of the judges. He cant go punch for punch with Margarito, this will end in tears. Im not very confident of a Sugar win here...im not even that confident he lasts the distance.
I really don't know, but I'll tell you, Margo would not do well to get hit flush and often by Mosley. His chin is strong, but everyone has their limits.
Mayorga is a big dude and Mosley stopped Mayorga in his tracks plenty of times during their encounter. Every time Mosley landed on Mayorga, Mayorga slowed down.
His chin has been battered to the point where it is no where near as good as it was though. This might happen to Tony one day...I just dont think now..there is nothing to suggest his chin isnt still iron.
I think Mosley can get a knock out if he takes his time and boxes a bit. He needs to not go for big powershots but use footwork and body shots. It seems like lately Mosley is trying to rush a knock out. This being said I think Marg will have a solid plan, take his time, and get his ko late. Round 11. Mosley can do it, but I think he fights like he did against Mayorga, just using brute force rather than finesse.
His new trainer Nazim Richardson will surely give him a solid gameplan based on boxing, and exploiting Margo's weaknesses.
Then itll be a points win for sure...if he DOES pull it off... Nazim is a tactician and one I think that out-wits MOST trainers...****in' genius this guy...but to STOP margo...don't think so. He doesn't have the power I believe there will be much tangling up involved in this fight...Hopkins style
if cotto couldnt do it with that many clean power punches mosley definitely isnt going to. the punishment margarito took during that fight was amazing and it didnt even phase him. the only way mosley even wins is to pull a mayweather and get on the bike.
