The higher this is fought at, the more it favors Manny. I can already see the ******* reaction if Manny KO's Juan at welterweight "you see? it was like this all along"
From a business standpoint, the win over Oscar puts Manny way out of JMM's league. I'm not even sure JMM's promoter would be able to look Manny in the eye during "negotiations" (and by negotiations, I mean "demands").
You have to admit that pac was weight drained during their fight at 130... he was supposed to fight diaz coz he was struggling to make weight but because JMM has the belt he opted to fight him at 130.
I agree he should make his own legacy... if he keeps on following pac he'll forever live in pac's shadow.
I honestly believe that may not be far from the truth. That fight with JMM at 130 was the only Pac fight I've ever seen where Pac seemed to wear down in the later rounds.
As stated by everyone and me, Nacho knows that it was a weightdrained(not so much but enough to lose some stamina and speed) Pac they fought at the second time. Putting Marquez against a non-dehydrated Pac is where he has all the disadvantage. That's why Nacho would/should do is make Marquez unify all LW and fight some at JR.WW, where he can make sound for Pac to notice. 135(90%chance wont happen) or 140 is enough to give Pac a bit of trouble against JMM.
A Manny/JMM fight I guess will be last in the priority fights lined-up for Pacman. Financial returns would be very small as PPV would be drastically reduced from that of the 2nd bout. Legacy wise, it will be slim as well as he already has the edge on record. The most lucrative is Hatton followed by PBF. If ever that Manny can overcome both obstacles, I think that there is the strong possibility of Manny using his last fight against a MW fighter. That fight is where I think he will go for the 'heck of it'...
Its fairly obvious that Pac is'nt going to fight at 147 lbs, unless possibly its against Mayweather Jr. I've said from way back before the JMM-Pac rematch, that the higher the weight, the more it would benefit JMM.....and I've seen nothing to make me change my mind on that. The move up in weight normally benefits the boxer, and I see no reason why it would be any different in a JMM-Pac matchup. The way I see it, whether it be at 135 lbs, 140 lbs, or 147 lbs, the difference in the weight disparity between the fighters would likely stay the same, which is between 4 and 6 pounds. Lets remember here, Pac is'nt taking his one shot power with him as he's gone from 135 lbs and now with his fight with DLH. ......Pac could'nt miss DLH, yet DLH legs never really buckled from any particular Pac shot. .....even when DLH looked helpless on the ropes while Pac castigated him, not one particular shot was able to wobble DLH to the point that one would say, "he's a shot away from getting KTFO. Pac's shots are not having the same concussive effect as he's climbing in weight, and remember, JMM will also be a little heavier to absorb the shots. Who's to say that JMM is'nt better off the further away from 130 lbs he gets......he sure seemed to take Casamayor's shots rather well, as he fought as if he was'nt worried about Casamayor's power. Casamayor was able to put some punches together, and not once did his shots bother JMM. I say the further up they fight, the more it benefits Marquez. If I'm JMM, I'd be talking to the media now and putting the pressure on Pac.......call Pac out and say, "The weight does'nt matter, I'll outbox him everytime, we can do this thing at Heavyweight if thats what it takes! *******s wont like my comments, but thats reality folks!:yep
Where'd you get the idea that JMM takes shots better at the heavier weights? Or are you really basing it with his fight against ole Casa? Manny wont carry his power? DLH suffered a fracture in his orbital bone and went to the hospital to get treatment. David D. is known to have a strong chin (big one too!:yep) DLH quit, it would have taken Pac another round to KTFO dlh. I would agree that JMM deserves a third fight...but so does the others. And frankly, the oppurtunity to fight Hatton and PBF will be more appealling worldwide. Aside from *******s, others may disagree with your comments and what you said does not necessarily means its reality. It is still your own opinion. which i respect:hey
i disagree totally based on real facts. going up in weight isnt the same for every fighter whether theyre a boxer, brawler or puncher. you see, pac has proven that he still possess power & more importantly speed. we have yet to seen jmm at 140+. dont get me wrong, jmm looked good against casa but who knows how another additional 5+ pounds along with age could affect jmm's speed & conditioning.
