    1. Michael Buffer
    "Let's get ready to rumble!"

    2. Rivarlys
Try comparing Liddell/Tito Ortiz or Hughes/Penn against Gatti/Ward, Barrera/Morales, Marquez/Vasquez… ok il stop.

    3. Money
De La Hoya and Mayweather make more money than all MMA fighters put together.

    4. Mike Tyson
Every sport needs a character, Tennis had John McEnroe, we have Tyson, who do you guys have ?

    5. HBO
    No need to explain

    My two favorite reasons:

    1. I don't enjoy watching two sweaty men rolling around with eachother.

    2. Stand up, make a fist and punch!

Delahoya and Mayweather are both gone and the amount of money they made killed their hunger for the glory of the sport. There are no great rivalries except Pac/JMM but that has been jeopardized because Pac moved up for bigger money fights, due to the way the sport of boxing is structured. HBO is good but their shows aren't as good as the UFC's in terms of entertainment value. They should be better undercard fights. Mike Tyson is a big part of Boxing's downfall. Michael Buffer? Thats really your #1 reason?????

While I am , of course , being glib for effect. There is MMA on all the time over here and while I imagine some of the top guys can make an entertaining fight almost every one I have watched ( and there have been a good few) end up with two guys wrapped round each other panting for breath

    That really dosnt interest me.

Where as even two relatively skill-less boxer will still have a fight that I can't take my eyes off.

Many MMA fans boo when the fighters get to wrestling each other. They want to see boxing even though they are watching MMA.

Worst part about MMA is when two very limited fighters skill wise go to the ground with 4:59 seconds left in the round and roll around for the next 4:59. That's just pathetic. Only a handful of these "professionals" seem to have any true "skill" on the ground. If i'm supposedly watching the highest level, why do i see so little skill in most of these fights? I enjoy watching MMA if it's between two very skilled fighters but most of the time, they look amatuerish.

Honestly, its because you don't really know what skill is. Not flaming, just the truth.

    Should have compared/contrasted.

Michael Buffer 'vs' Bruce Buffer  - the best MC ever versus his cousin whose voice seems to break every time he opens his mouth

The HBO team 'vs' the bumbling, stoned, coked-up, repetitive Joe Rogan and Mike 'these guys are constantly evolving' Goldberg.

I admit i don't know a great deal about MMA and grapping/jujitsu on the ground but even my novice ass can tell the difference.

Are you watching the latest UFC Ultimate Fighter series? There is this one Hispanic guy who is lights out on the ground. Forgot his name. He's that young, good looking kid. But he's supposed to be one of the best on the ground and when he fights, it actually shows. Every second he's on the ground, he's looking for a way to submit you. Most guys don't have that level of expertise. That's the type of stuff that's fun to watch.
