All well and good, but virtually EVERY fight ends up with guys rolling around on the ground - and while you may think that's interesting, many of us find watching it frightfully dull. It is EVERYTHING that is bad about boxing magnified ten fold. It's like watching Ruiz fighting horizontal!!!!

Now, I am sure it requires skill, but who cares. Golf requires a lot of skill, doesn't mean it's exciting to watch. Same with this stuff.

    1. Michael Buffer
    "Let's get ready to rumble!"

Well. . . MMA has Bruce Buffer "Iiiiiiiit's TIME!!!"

    2. Rivarlys
Try comparing Liddell/Tito Ortiz or Hughes/Penn against Gatti/Ward, Barrera/Morales, Marquez/Vasquez… ok il stop.

How about Shamrock/Gracie, Sakuraba/Gracie, Wanderlai Silva/Rampage Jackson, Liddell/Couture, Ortiz/Shamrock, Cung Le/Frank Shamrock, Nogueria/Fedor, GSP/Penn (who are fighting again next month) and the list goes on and on.

    3. Money
De La Hoya and Mayweather make more money than all MMA fighters put together.

Yeah - but what happens when these guys retire? Where are the new super stars of boxing? Compare any non-De La Hoya PPV to a UFC PPV and you'll find the numbers are much closer with the UFC usually pulling out ahead,

    4. Mike Tyson
Every sport needs a character, Tennis had John McEnroe, we have Tyson, who do you guys have ?

We have Crazy Horse Bennet, Ken Shamrock, Tito Ortiz, Phil Baroni, Brock Lesnar, Kimbo Slice. Every sport has a meathead and it's not hard to find them.

    5. HBO
    No need to explain

Um. . . yes you do have to explain. What about SPIKE TV. No need to explain the fact that they put on MMA fights all year long for basic cable subscribers.

because a world heavyweight champion in boxing would never lose to a 3-fight novice wwf wrestler.

How many fights did Leon Spinks have before he beat Muhammad Ali for the heavyweight championship?

MMA in my eyes is just boring. Way too much holding.

I have a tape of a great fight between Wladimir Klitschko vs Ibragimov that is about as entertaining as watching paint ****. Care to watch that again?

.beacuse it doesnt degenerate in to Gay Porn !

It only looks like gay porn if you're the one thinking about gay porn so you might want to think about that again.

    1. I don't enjoy watching two sweaty men rolling around with each other.

Learn to appreciate studied technique and you'll gain an appreciation for the submissions that are being applied.

The problem with these anti-MMA threads that pop up on this forum is that all of the MMA fans here know their boxing and MMA backwards and forwards - whereas the anti-MMA crowd only knows boxing and when you try to make broad generalizing attacks it makes you look dumb.

Mike Tyson would KO lesnar with his first shot, hell even the force of the air his punch created may do it

Of course Lesnar whos stand up skills are okay at best is going to trade with Tyson right away..

or better yet.. I know what he'll do. Right away he'll go for a takedown and what do you know. Tyson doesn't know how to defend them.

So you like a mans voice
Why compare? it's two complete different sports and 8 very different people
What has money got to do with one being better? with this logic Film starts are better than boxers,OPEC CEO must be better than everybody.
No sport needs a convicted ****** and cannibal, even Tyson is ashamed of the way he acted, not a role model, not even a decent guy, there are plenty of cake wholes in MMA that make Tyson look like a Choir Boy You using your own personal feelings to justify your love of boxing over MMA, this is not a fact or reality, its just how you feel because of your programming and understand of the world, others will hate both and prefer Ballet or line dancing and come up with a equal list of reason why its better than boxing, you are everywhere.
