I understand why people do not hold back with their criticism: Some of the biggest Adamek fans are also some of the biggest haters on ESB (Axe for example).

It is obvious that his hate for other fighters will come back like a boomerang.

 

Dude its always about the next fight, that is what makes boxing fun for hardcore BOXING fans...The people that are fans of a certain fighter or a fighters that some from a certain place dont get to enjoy that part of boxing because they want to live forever in ONE win...That fight is over props to Adamek for winning...but **** its time for us to move on to the next fight:good

 

All fighters have delusional supporters on ESB. The fighter and his character is what matters most, when deciding whether to become his fan. Adamek is nothing but a humble warrior, who does not shy away from any challenge. He has proven this at light heavy (for which Dawson sincerely thanked him before and after the fight) and will do so at cruiser. What other reason do you need to support him? Would it make a difference for you, if his passport was British and his mouth was twice his size?

 

I dont give a care about thier character, Im not looking for a nanny, or someone to work for me. Im looking for a fight, what does character have to do with that...I dont buy that crap, I think that is code for a reason to hate on a fighter that otherwise gives you knowing to hate about him.

 

Yea I see it too. Plenty of people on here trying to discredit Adameks win already, when most were picking Cunningham to take it.

Character + Skill + Results = Fighter.

Without the character a fighter is incomplete and an underachiever(Golota).

Often a fighter without character hurts and embarrasses the sport (Floyd and Haye not far behind).


Look at the professionalism of most other team and individual sport athletes. They have character or at least try to conform to a set of standards for professional conduct or else they face consequences. Because of fighters with weak characters and loud mouths, boxing shows often look like tapings of professional wrestling rather than professional sports.

 

See that is the thing...Im going to be honest only the Polish fans he cared about the fight before the fight...The Americans didnt think much of it, and I also dont think that most picked cunningham to win...In fact i think that there was a thread about Cunningham not even being a favorite, even though Vegas had him as a betting fave which was based largely on him being the champ.

The majority of the fans here on ESB picked Cunningham. The bookies had Cunningham as the favorite. Even Polish boxing writers were picking Cunningham to win on points. The fact is Adamek was the under-dog and he pulled the upset. You can look up the polls on this fight if you disagree. One had Cunningham winning by quite a bit, while the other was very close, with a majority picking Cunningham none the less. You don't win belts in 2 divisions being either lucky, or mediocre. Adamek is world class and deserves his due, especially after tonight.
