How would it play out? Could Quarry survive the early blitz and take Tyson into deep waters?

As much respect as I have for jerry Quarry and his career accomplishments, I really can't see even the best version of Quarry beating even the worst version of Tyson. Frankly, I think the Tyson who lost to Leonnox Lewis would have beaten the Quarry who sparked Shavers.

Quarry fought a very stupid fight against Frazier, and I expect the same against Tyson. Probably go around 3 or 4 rounds, but would be very action packed.

That is going a bit too far but your general point stands.

Quarry would show great counter-punching. Tyson would NOT intimidate Quarry. I think Quarry may lose by T.K.O. on cuts by the third round.

Quarry was a god damned sponge for punishment. He didn't have a invulnerable chin like Cobb but god could he take it.

Did anyone ever stretch Quarry out for the count?

I know Mac Foster couldn't even knock him down, Frazier only made him take a knee from a bodyshot...

No **** ! Quarry took a good punch. he packed a good punch himself. You´ve got to look at the way Holyfield picked Tyson apart. We thought Tyson would kill Holyfield !!
I think Quarry could´ve outhustled Tyson. Quarry was an excellent counterpuncher, catching Tyson on the way in.
Frazier is one of the greatest heavywweights ever. He had Quarry´s number. There´s no simularity between Frazier and Tyson. Frazier was destructive and a winner against small heavyweights. Tyson fought his best fights (Berbick, Holmes, Williams) against big blokes. I´ve got nothing to say of the his destruction of Spinks. It was´nt even a fight. It was a punch !
Tyson´s could´ve stopped Quarry on cuts. Knocking Quarry out would´ve been imposssible.
After the 5th round, Quarry would´ve started to punch out a tireing Tyson.

I think people are overestimating the Tyson of McNeeley. There's a reason they hand-picked McNeeley, because Tyson wasn't physically or mentally ready to be tested in a real fight at that point.

So I've got Quarry TKO 3 Tyson. Six to nine months later, however, Tyson starches him.

If Quarry can somehow survive the first five rounds or so,he dismantles a discouraged Tyson.

Virtually a Mission Impossible for Quarry though. Tyson stops him within three stanzas.

I think Tyson would blitz Quarry and take him out. Quarry had a bad habit of slugging with sluggers and boxing with boxers.

Mike would go out looking to rip his head off and Jerry would be doing likewise, but Quarry didn't have what it took to get into that sort of fight with Mike and make it past 4 or 5 rounds.
