Apologies if theres a thread up on this already, canna see it.

How do you see this panning out ? I saw quite a few of Magee's fights, not so much the current ones. McGuire, a couple of his early ones.

No clue here regarding a winner.

    Thoughts

Yep i remember his ol man from the amatuers, he had the squad for Commonwealths in 2002. Surprised he didnt give you an interview, maybe just got his head down to work etc. I dont see any quotes from him in the papers either regarding this scrap, just Gilmour.
Watched most of Mcgee's fights with the IBO title but as said, no clue to a winner.

I read today Mcgee lost the toss regarding ringwalk. I will go with Mcgee actually given his only losses werent exactly bad losses.

    Cheers

always question marks over mcgees punch resistance, but his skills are of a high level, certainly could of gone alot further in his career had his chin not let him down. held his own with froch till the brutal KO.

mcguire doesnt look to have much power, least going purely on his record anyway, but you've got to wonder what mcgees motivation will be like as his career is going nowhere atm, especially when you consider he was competing at european/fringe world level at one point.

Must surely see this as his last chance for some sort of reputable title, so the motivation should be there, but anything other than a win and it'll be retirement time.

Betfair still has the market up for Magee v McGuire.

Incidentally they have Magee a very short priced favourite at 1.23 (2/9) which is a slight surprise given McGuire's unblemished record. The price may reflect McGuire's lack of public profile and I admit I was favouring Magee myself but I may now have a nibble on McGuire with a view to trading once the fight starts.
