I'm probably the minority, but if cotto is able to make a strong comeback and not get a career ending beatdown in the rematch with margarito, I see it as being a competitive fight. floyd may win, but I doub't he will dominate him.

 

I got the joke... Yea there are always bandwagons after everyfight but that doesn't mean Cotto doesn't have a chance to beat Mayweather with his Boxer/puncher style.

bad idea... they want to make sure the margarito fight makes sense... if he by some way loses to clottey then the margarito fight is almost a waste

 

Truth is there is so much comp at welter that anyone can loose at any point especially this year of the upsets.

And I'm not sure many people jumped off of the Cotto Bandwagon - Margarito is just ****ing good. Cotto will be back and have the same following because of his fight style and demenor.

 

I think Cotto vs Mayweather would be a heck of a good fight, with Mayweather grabbing a UD. Cotto wouldn't get beat-down though, and he'd win 4-5 rounds probably. People shouldn't be so dismissive of him simply because of the Margarito fight - don't forget that he has some very impressive boxing skills, power, accuracy, blah blah blah.. he'd be competitive, that's for sure.

 

I dont see Cotto as a B level fighter. I see him as an A level fighter who's style does not allow him to beat Mayweather

Sort of. I see it like Chavez-Mayweather (Jesus Chavez) but Cotto not landing as much, as his chin is not as good and I think he is going to get cut up in the mouth too.
