As a Brit I often get to see the post-fight interviews involving either Kellerman or Merchant. Don't HBO have anyone else and why do Kellerman and Merchant take a ****ing century to ask a meaningless question.
They both are terrible. Larry Merchant doesn't know what's going on most of the time, either does Kellerman. Fire Kellerman, Merchant retire I hope.
Merchant actually is quite good. But he's slow as Rachman's overhand right. Kellerman's just irritating and spews the HBO company line, whatever that may be at any given time. I think Arreola and Williams are the new HBO bitches to be hyped.
Well my **** hasn't been ****ed up in a while so whilst I start feeding Merchant through a straw and tie Kellerman to a lampost to scare the neighbours please feel free.
I don't care if Merchant is a slow as a snail in a race against a rabbit, the guy is still great to listen to, still asks the tough questions, and and is an institution in boxing. Kellerman is a bit raw, but give him time.
Because most of the time they are asking a fighter whos head has been being hit for the past such odd minutes. They need to go a bit slower.
One reporter compared Kellerman to Merchant, saying something like it is a little like replacing Picasso with the guy who does Elvis paintings outside of Graceland. I think that captures the difference well. Kellerman is, hands down, the worst boxing commentator I have heard in 30 years of following boxing - and that's saying something.
