well so much for Camou.... atleast his shorts fit this time, unlike the John Stockton's he wore back when he fought Hanshaw.
I guess it was just too much to ask for Versus to put on two good fight cards in a row. The card earlier this week which featured Agbeko and Adamek was excellent, but tonight's fights are leaving a lot to be desired.
Hopefully we got some form of a step up in competition for Ward. 17 fights is when you start fighting C+ to B- ranked competition. SMW has a lot of litmus tests so if Ward is still fighting cans a year from now it won't be from a lack of options.
Ward interviewed now. Said he saw Camou against "Jane" Pascal and Anthony Hanshaw. Said his knee is fine, thanking his surgeons and his church family and everyone else. Said he had a hard camp and got through the camp. Caught him with a good shot and could've put him down, thought the fight could've gone on a bit more but either way he's not upset. Said he's going at the right pace and that 2009 is gonna be a good year. Said one more fight in Feb in his home town before moving up to face some top 10 guys.
BONUS BOXING! Malik Scott-Raphael Butler coming up to stall. HBO should think about doing this more often...buying some time with bonus fights.
Two quick knockouts, and a couple of C-level heavyweight bouts. It's not horrible. Just don't try to measure it by Thursday's standards. :yep
Thursday is their usual Fight Night night. This is sort of a bonus night. But yeah action wise this isnt even close.
Maybe McDonalds could sponsor a boxing show. Think about it. HBO and McDonalds present Fry Fights! Main Event Chris "The Big Nipple" Arreola against The Grimace Featuring WBC Elimination Bout Raphael Butler vs The Hamburglar
Well on Thursday you had the top two cruisers going at it. None of the guys on this card are in the top 10 of their respective divisions.
