Peters was his best victory to date,,,,Peters was game, wlad was a 3-1 underdog, an with exception of three rounds, won every other round, an almost decapitated peters in the process, an peters got two knock downs by rabbit punches,,,,Peters has never been the same sence then, the beating he took from wlad was worst then vitali gave him,,,,i mean the chin peters had that night was incredible,,wlad hit with countless power shots. To beat peters that night you had to have serious skills, as wlad does have,,,,byrd fights were also great for his record,,,,,Austin was nice, too, cause he just used his left, did not throw one right punch.....Purrity an brewster could also be put on the list, the brewster fight he loss,,,,,,He beat the **** out of these guys, an if you watch the fight, he only lost 1 half rounds in both fights combined an was not like the sanders fight were one punch finished it,,, but just the loss of energy from handing out a boxing lession, brewster was lucky to make it to the 5th (the round it happen),,,but both fights showed wlad boxing skills one every minutes of those fights but last in each fignt,:hi:
Klitschko's resume is impressive there is no doubting that. He also dominated Rahman and never let him into the fight. However, for me his safety first nature, even when an opponent is just begging to be finished will never endear to some fans, including me. Lewis finished a far more dangerous Rahman in four rounds some seven years ago yet Klitschko takes twice as long against a late replacement Rahman who seemed only willing to pick p his paycheck. I don't like to knock Wlad and I recognise he is the main man in the division, and probably will be until he retires, but I just can't warm to his safety first approach.
There's two ways to get yourself a resume- the quick way is to fight recognized great fighters in big fights, the second is to beat alot of good to solid competition over time encompassing a variety of skills and styles to show your style's versatility and consistency. Both is great, but either one will get your resume respect in my book. Wlad's clearly the latter, but he's doing a good job with it so far. If he can get himself a significant rival or two before he retires along with defending his belts, his resume really won't have any holes in it.
When people fight wlad they cover up, wlad has to use his jab to break people down, when rockman fought lewis he threw alot more punches an left himself open alot more,,,chris byrd also covered up in both fights with wlad, an the minute he left that game plan, an it was cause of wlad jab that byrd did leave his plan, he went down from a massive right,,,,when boxer fight wlad, they go into surviaval mode,,,,Only one boxer that i have seen that fought wlad did not go into this mode was sanders,,,brewster did in both fights, an so did purity, peters did, they look for ONE punch, so wlad got to look out for that,,,,Safty first is also a stretch, He landed 178 punches by early part of round 7, two mintues to go in the round, pac-man went one more round, an at the end of 8 he landed 224 punches,,,just imagine if that fight was not stopped, wlad as heavy would of thrown more punches then the welterweight IF the fight went eight of course The rock wouldn't of made it........
Nothing. Some people will never be satisfied. Fighting the best of a fighter's generation is all they can do.
He has fought all of the top ranked opponents in the division, and never ducked anyone. All of the top champions bar a few examples have lost fights, sometimes against lesser opponents. Ali lost a bucket load, some not given, and is still considered the greatest by "most", but not by me. The Americans are now hanging onto some fat lard ass with an eating addiction worse than James Toney. How sad
