You are too critical on him, axe! I am positive that you cant name that many fighters at his weight division who have collect so many decent skalps in so short a pro career.
Griffin may be past his prime and over the hill.Nevertheless,he isnt easy prey for an opponent with just 5 pro fights irrespective of his amateur credentials.

He's fighting Kelvin Davis 24 (17) - 9 (5) - 2 this saturday in washington. The guy lost by TKO 3 of his last 5 defeats who are also his last 5 fights. So the pick is Shumenov by TKO I guess. Is there any footage of Shumenov vs Griffin?

Boxrec had him slated to fight Mendoza? This is the same Mendoza that arguably beat Jeff Lacy. Though the result isn't up, not sure what is going on there, but if this fight occurred i would definitely like to know the result, Mendoza isn't the sort of fighter a rookie should be getting in the ring with.

This guy aint a rookie, not when you shut out Montell Griffin in your 6th fight. Hes looks very good, heard big things about this fella. Guess he doesnt like fighting bums to pad his record thats all.

He might be very good but he isn't experienced at the pro level, a convincing win over Mendoza at this early stage would be huge.

that sounds about right, Shumenov is all offense as Golovkin is to defense

I hope he improves though he has talent for sure

That bit about mid fight hugging made me laugh.

Sounds odd....a 5 second embrace in the middle of a fight???? WTF is that about.

They probably just gave each other a pat on the back whilst breaking a clinch after an accidental foul between them. Far from normal, but the quoted guy could just be being cynical.

Hes going against Epifanio Mendoza W28(ko24)L6(ko2)D1...another good opponent the guy fought against Lacy in a war,got owned against Dawson but koed Rubin Williams in 1 and Tokunbo Olajide in 1 also who were good prospects when Mendoza meet them...so it will be a good test to see how Beibut chin will hold on...
