Well watching Klitschko demolish yet another faded has been/never was in Hasim Rahman was a real drag. I'm a fan of Klitschko but man, why is he inundated with competitors who are to inexperienced, non threatening, old, fading, out of shape, or a combination of one or more of these things?

Time for a heavyweight shake up. Klitschko has only two options for his next fight, those being either David Haye or Chris Arreola. Of the two obviously Haye is the better boxer and athlete but both need to take a big step up in terms of class and Klitschko needs to start fighting prospects instead of has been's who hang around long enough to be given fights they don't deserve.

Truth be told and though I think it would be a mismatch, in Haye's favor, Haye vs. Arreola needs to happen as an eliminator with the winner fighting Wladimir. To big names and two big punchers in a fight that will prove who the number one contender should be and to build hype for a Klitschko summer 2009 showdown.

While I believe that Haye and Arreola won't meet in the ring for quite some time, if at all Klitschko's next opponent needs to be someone of consequence and either today's or tomorrows big thing. Yesterday's fighters weren't even that great yesterday and I'm tired of seeing them fight.

Someone make the next Klitschko fight an interesting one please! Put someone in there who's a threat to Wladimir.

You ever heard of Povetkin? He is in line and he should get his shot.Haye might be in line too if Vitali doesn't get him first. And Arreola?Please....the guy isn't on Wlad's or Vitali's level.

This is what's going to happen in 2009.

    Wladimir vs Povetkin
    Vitali vs Haye

I agree with your points, however Povetkin doesnt have the name recognition the other two guys have and a lot of people are clamoring for an exciting heavyweight championship bout. Sure Arreola will get steamrolled by Wladimir but Haye's got a good chance at pulling off an upset. I'm just tired of recycled fighters and boring fights. Chris and David might get knocked out but it'd be with guns blazing!

    Haye would knock out Wladimir.

All this crap about a step up in class. It's not for Haye. It's a step up in weight.

In America Povetkin might not have the name recognition, but in his part of the world he is a huge name. Also, what's wrong with earning a title shot the old fashion way?

Haye wouldn't KO Wladimir even on Fight Night Round 3,4,5 etc.

Arreola has more 'name recognition' than Povetkin?!

Classic case of assuming that your street is representative of the entire world...

I think you guys misunderstood the point of my post but that's ok. I just feel that Haye and Arreola get more mention in the media than does Povetkin and many of the other heavyweights out there. I'm not opposed to a Povetkin fight I'd rather see Haye or Arreola square off against Klitschko. :)

Yeah but a fight between haye and arreola would be very exciting and definitely be a good line up fight for vitali or wald

I was talking about a direct fight for either Haye or Arreola. And yes I agree with you but I don't think it will happen as it looks like Haye is going by the WBC and Arreola by the IBF.

I've been wanting to see Haye vs. Arreola since they both won their last fights. Since Klitshcko mentioned both of them as possible fights why not set up an eliminator? I pick Haye in this fight by early KO but man it'll be fun to watch while it lasts.

He has to fight who is out there, but I fail to see how you can lump Ibragimov, Thompson, and Peter as ANY of those aspects you listed...........and those were three good wins that you choose to just dismiss in order to try and paint the division as being worse than it really is.

Let's be real about it, shalll we?

Not to mention that Brock was a legit and credible fight, and he dropped Brock in dramatic fashion.......

So I fail to see how you can paint all of his wins with such a broad brush, and say they were all lacking in merit. You over simplify the situation in order to make a dramatic thread topic. One that is unfounded and not accurate.

Truth is, Wlad has racked up some VERY good wins over the last few years against some good opponents who WERE real, legit contenders ( or in Ibrag's case, titleholders).......

How does Arreola's visibility in the German media compare to Povetkin's?

I never said that Wladimirs wins where in any way unimpressive or undeserving of praise and/or legitimacy. I guess I should have named the post "I want Klitshcko to fight Haye or Arreola" so that my words would have rang clear. I'm a fan of Klitschko and have a lot of respect for the fighter. It is my opinion...and just my opinion that he sometimes fights in blatant mismatches and against some fighters who have no hype surrounding them. Just boring sometimes, though that's not Klitschko's fault by any means. He takes the fights as they come I'm just hungry for a big fight surrounded by hype and excitment.
