Um physically I'm going to have to say Cotto because he seems to be sturdy and compact.Hard to explain something like this I guess
Physically stronger, Cotto, he's very powerful at 147. But I believe Mayweather could inflict a single harder blow with his speed and mechanics.
Well, to fairly determine the answer, you would have to test both mens strength at the exact same weight. If these 2 fought each other at 147 & weigh in was 5 minutes before the fight started, who do you think would be noticeably stronger?
Uh oh, here come the excuses. There are no varibles here, it simple straight up question. Who's the physically stronger guy?
Cotto is strong, but Floyd's physical strength is way underrated. He does not have the KO's that Cotto has against common opponents, but looking at how he actually clenches when he is forced to do so would lead me to believe that he has sloghtly better overall arm strength.
Floyd is stronger. He's taken punches from bigger men, and Floyd's beaten bigger men. Cotto hasn't. Cotto has not beaten one fighter stronger than him.
Floyd is. He's proven that he can clinch bigger men & take their punches, cant say the same bout Cotto.
It is too creepy to say Cotto is stronger than Floyd. It is too creepy to say AM is stronger than Floyd. It's as if boxing smarts is a non issue when answering this dumb ass question lol...
Floyd. Watch that Ricky Hatton fight again. The inside game is brutal and it takes a hell of alot of strength to beat a guy like Ricky Hatton the way Floyd did. The left hook that stopped him obviously KOes Hatton, but the inside game for the first nine rounds showed how physically stong Mayweather is.
If we are talking about pure physical strength at 147 then it's clearly Cotto by a mile. Cotto comes into the ring at 160lbs or more while Floyd barely reaches 150 max on fight night. Hypothetically speaking, in a clinch Cotto could grab Mayweather and bodyslam him easily if he wanted to rough him up like he did to Urkal. PBF is not that type of fighter nor possesses that type of brute strength. He relies on finesse to do the job. He couldn't even outmuscle little Hatton although he easily outsmarted him in the end.
