Assuming Floyd fights Pac this May at the 143 limit and lost by SD, UD or KO what could be the possible reason/s? Please vote and state your reasons. You can choose more than one option.

IMO the only reason why Floyd can lose is if he can't handle Pac's speed. Pac's hand and foot speed will be the key for an SD win, beating Floyd in the exchanges with his awkward movement and moving out fast. I won't consider ring rust a factor really since according to Sr Jr is fit and ready to go.

Floyd's shot will be the excuses.....that much i know

but to answer the question, his hand speed, foot speed, workrate, high guard, + plus he's a southpaw...as long size isn't a big factor Pac is a hard fight for anyone (unless you're Miguel Cotto)

If he was to get the win,It would probably be because of his relentless pressure.

That being said i cant see Floyd losing, not at all. He will outbox him, simple as that and i'd much rather see an all out offensive war with Hatton,a much more competitive fight IMO.

Floyd is overrated and Pac is the greatest fighter of all time.
That's how I would see it from many stupid posters here in the General Section.

However, I think Manny got some good stuff hat would trouble Floyd but his southpaw stance and hand speed are his greatest weapons, remember Floyd having problem to adapt to Judah's style during the first 4 rounds (got knock downed by a right jab by the way). And Judah was not a powerful type like Pacquiao but again, the size issue would be a big factor.

if Floyd loses to Pac, then I would be flabbergasted.

Floyd is the superior fighter. and has a defensive minded style that is going to cause Manny a lot of problems. Easy points win.

According to Nacho Berstein, Angelo Dundee & many others, DLH was ready to go... does that mean you wont accept weight drained, shot or even both as valid excuses for Oscar`s embarassing defeat ?

Put it this way, the last time we seen Mayweather, he looked great in KOing Hatton, if he hasnt slipped too far from that level, he should beat Pac, thats all Im saying.

Pac could win by using his hand and foot speed to cut the ring of and put constant, intelligent pressure on Floyd. The southpaw stance will also cause a few problems for Floyd as will his year or so out of the ring.

By doing this Pac could conceivably win as i have always believed being able to quickly cut of the ring then applying intelligent presure is the way to beat Floyd.

However i think the main telling factor in this fight, which i believe will decide who will win is how much both guys shots effect the other.

Since being knocked out as a young novice Pac has shown a sturdy chin over the years. However despite fighting at 135 against David Diaz and 147 against DLH the hardest punchers Pac has ever taken were against the 130 lbs Marquez, Morales and Barrera as Diaz and DLH didn't land any meaningful, flush shots on Pac. Barrera, Morales and Marquez can punch but they are not power punchers, especially at the 130 limit. I know Floyd is not exactly Earnie Shavers but he is naturally bigger than Pac and whilst he is not a devasting puncher, he is a solid, sharp puncher. Infact, if you go back to the Floyd-DLH fight he stops DLH dead in his tracks a few times and does stun the normally solid chinned DLH. On the rare, few occasions DLH landed on Pac the shots did seem to momentarilly stun the little guy. He wasn't hurt but it did look to me like these shots did get his attention.

Because of this i believe Floyd can hurt Manny with his shot's.

Can Manny hurt Floyd? Well it is hard to tell. On the rare occasions Floyd gets caught flush he has taken the shots well.

Can Manny hurt Floyd with one shot? I don't think so. I don't think his power is nearly as effective up at these higher weights. He hit Diaz with everything and it took him 8 rounds to break him down. If he hit a 130 or lower guy with those shots he would have KO'ed them within a few rounds.

In the DLH fight i don't think one shot in particular really hurt Oscar. It was a succession of shot's and Oscar having nothing in the tank that wore him down and made him quit, not Manny's punching power.

Because of this i don't think Manny can hurt Floyd. Not with one shot anyway. However Manny may beable to wear Floyd down with many shots as i beleive with Pacs speed and pressure he may hit Floyd more times than anyones ever hit Floyd before.

So for Manny to win he will have to show that he can take Floyds best shots (i have a suspicion he may not be able to) and utilise his speed to put constant presure on Floyd to slowly wear him down.

If he loses then it will be because of Pacquiao, nothing else.
