Exactly the point, However Floyd boys will use that excuse to fire away with the hate, the problem your facing "Walk Wit Me" is that they are using Williams as foil to say Tony is ducking, which puts you in the cross fire, How? simple when it suits their arguement they use size to discredit Tony, yet they never say an ounce about Pauls size, they simply say Tony is avoiding Paul.

But the reality is, if Tony is too big to be a welter then whats that make paul who is atleast 3 inches taller if not more:think

Margarito has stated he feels most comfortable and 147lbs and has never had issues making weight.

if i were you i wouldnt even bring up weight as an issue

how can you duck someone you've already fought? its kind of contradictory? i mean you can never margarito is fearful of fighting paul williams because hes already been there.... if you want to make a point that margarito is ducking him as a business decision thats fine ... thats margarito's decision to watch out for his wallets for the time being eventually he's going to have to fight paul williams anyways because if he beats shane & cotto again there will be no body left at 147 worth fighting besides williams...

at the end of the day if you can make 147 your a welterweight.. if you make 147 that means your the same weight which is the rule of boxing there obviously might be some physical advantages for the taller guy but that might create some advantages for the smaller guy (speed, fighting inside) but people need to cut it out with this "he's to tall ****"

nobody makes excuses for fighting valuev ....

Wow!!!! I never imagined you would ever take the time to post a well thought out response, Now that you have here is my motion, if I am Margarito why cash in now? meaning why take the Williams fight at this stage let the fight sizzle let Williams build up some good solid wins so that the demand is much more than it is today.

There are some names both guys can fight and make a bit of money on, you have Berto, and Clottey out there, why not start unifying the divison if your Margarito? and why doesnt Williams go after one of the two belt holders? or stay in his place at Welter weight and allow the ratings to do their job?

Either way I agree there isnt alot of money at WW right now, which is why you have Margarito vs Mosley, and the rematch with Cotto. Both fights that will bring some money to Margaritos bank account, and yet they are not as big of a risk as the Williams fight.

That fight he did have with Williams was won and lost in that final round, had Tony pulled that round out it would have been a draw, well from the way I scored it, However I think the rematch will show some improvement in Tony, he just needs to start a bit faster.
which he has shown to do so in every fight since then.

    No No No.

we use the size thing as a reason for you guys to shut the **** up.

The Margo lovers / Floyd haters say Floyd picks on smaller fighters and doesn't fight people his own size.

And whats Margo doing? He called out Pac, not fighting Williams. I see him only fighter smaller fighters and not people his own size. :deal

EDIT - You also have Margo fans saying Williams doesn't belong at WW and shouldn't be there and he cant make 147 anymore so Margo doesn't need to fight him. Lol...

If you can make 147, you are a WW simple as that.

He can fight at welter if he wants. It just proves how utterly untalented he is and how average he looks when he fights above welter.

80% of the time i say a good response haha i think because the fact that i like floyd and paul you ignore that.....

but really as far as money goes theres no point in fighting williams... outside of the boxing world he's pretty unknown as well but his name is buzzing because nobody really wants to fight him which is a good thing but he still needs big names on his resume.. its not even about letting the williams fight generate a buzz because until williams starts fighting recognized people there wont be a buzz...

thats why cotto was on the verge of blowing up... he already had 2 big names on his resume (zab & shane) if you add margarito and oscar into that and cotto positions himself as a box office fighter...

margarito has finally realized that and he is now trying to do the same thing... thats why you fight shane. shane is recognized outside of the boxign world so if you beat shane you get some fans by doing that and then you beat cotto again which was a great fight and cotto was getting some heat behind his name and margarito slowly positions himself to be a prime time fighter....

if i was margarito i would hope that by the time i fight cotto in the rematch (probably late summer) paul williams atleast takes on one or two guys that are prime time fighters (vernon forrest, kelly pavlik) so that way paul williams builds his name outside the world of boxing and then they can make the rematch for late 09/ early 10 and its actually a high stakes match....

and theres more money @ welter weight than most divisions.... the most financially opprotunity laden divisons are probably welterweight & light welterweight (because of floyd & hatton & shane) no other weight classes have event fighters or really fighters that are regocnized outside of the boxing world unless a fighter makes it so they are recognized outside the boxing world ( beating people emphatically) which i dont really see happening

and paul williams already asked for berto & clottey but clottey's camp didnt answer back and berto's people wont let him fight williams ( i dont know that for a fact but if i was berto's people i wouldnt either.. id give him like 3 more fights before i put him near cotto margarito or cotto) ,

Oh really? Cause we still dont hear how Hatton is so much smaller than Floyd

Or if the Pac fight happens.. good god.. this board will implode on Floyd fighting someone closer to his actual size than any of the current top WWs.

I would bet the house, car and jewellry on Floyd beating Margarito.

    But........

This BS argument about Tony being too big is just nonsense.

    1. He makes 147

    2. He doesn't have a significant reach advantage

    3. He doesn't use his height by fighting at a distance ala Lennox Lewis

He seems to like blocking shots with his face - now if he can do that, props to the guy :good

5'11 is not an average size for a welter so just stop it. Tony is big he's really big at WW he comes in on fight night for a 147 fight at 160. Not to mention he fought at 154 but ran his ass back down when he couldn't handle it. His size advantage at 147 is a big reason of his success at that weight. He uses his size at 147 to beat up on smaller fighters. That's why I say he's not that great he can't beat guys that are bigger than he is example, Williams and Santos.:deal
