What I find funny in your arguement there is your refering to fights that were very close, its not like Tony was blasted out by either guy he wasnt, he barely lost the Williams fight, and Honestly the time of the stoppage for the Santos fight, was the time usally when Margarito takes over in a fight and it was clear in that last round that Margarito was taking over. those fights were close, he ran back down in weight becuase that is where he belongs and where it best suits him, again he is no too big only a ****ing hater would say that. its like some have said here if you can make the weight your a welter weight. Tony can make the weight. I think a big problem you have Pimp C is that Tony has a more credable win as a Welter weight than Floyd did before he retired and that in itself seems to bother you.
So Hatton and possibly Pac is cherry picking? Then WTF is a Cotto rematch and a shot to **** Mosley?:deal
Did anyone see the size difference between Santos and Tony? Santos easily out weighed tony by almost 10 pounds and looked alot more muscular. Tony has a small bone frame most mexicans do and thats why theres not alot of Mex Heavys.
Saying Margo is too big is the equivalent of saying Floyd is too fast, they are attributes that cannot be learned. In other words it's bull****
Mosley is a good name under his belt especially when you consider Tony just fought all of the top current welters in the last year and a half starting with Clottey. Cotto rematch is more of an honor kind of thing, the man gave him a shot when nobody else was willing to so I understand why the rematch plus the way Cotto fought he does deserve one. Hatton vs Pacquiao, its a good fight for Ricky Hatton and for Manny in terms of size they are both about the same size its not like Pacquiao is a full welter weight we know he isnt 140 is where he should be at, Max to say the least, and Hatton just so happens to be a big fight at that weight class.
Hatton vs Pac is a mega fight, whichever way you look at it. The P4P No.1 vs the linear champ who has never looked like losing and is fringe top #10.
I could give a **** less about Tony's wins at 147 he still hasn't accomplished as much as PBF has done at that weight. Has he been linear at 147? Don't even get me started on a his career as a whole it wouldn't even be a contest.:yep My problem with Margo is he runs on the platform of being the most feared man in boxing and fights for honor & pride and when he gets schooled by a green Williams he won't get back into the ring and avenge his loss despite a career high payday or avenge his loss to Santos or rematch Clottey a fight he was losing until Clottey hurt his hands but then goes on to cherry pick a shot Mosley and Cotto a man he made quit in the ring. That's my gripe.
The ability to drain weight isn't an attribute. When is the last time you've heard a fight announcer say "Man that guy really has trhe ability to drain weight" It's not like speed.
Honor? Honor my ass. If it was about honor he would have avenged his loss to Williams ASAP or atleast fought Santos.:deal
Well all things considered...The reason all those above mentioned were so good at WW is because of their massive height and size. Trinidad was a tall WW and so was DLH and Hearns. I never even bothered to look at Margo's height before the Cotto fight because Cotto is somewhat of a small WW. Most WW are between 5'8 to 5'10. Cotto's 5'7 and Margo's 5'11. But you're correct by saying if you can make the weight you're a WW. But others are correct in saying that he's bullying the division. If Margo successfully cleans out the division and stays there...he's staying at a division he knows he's too big for. Let's face it. All the above mentioned moved up after a certain number of wins were accumulated. Margarito has done it a few times and hasn't seen as much success. **** at least Williams KNOWS he's ****in' huge for a WW and campaigns all around. Where as Margo just hangs out at WW until there's nothing left. I think if he cleans out and beats everyone and DOESNT move up. Then he's clearly a shitty fighter punking on small WWs.
