Not punching power but strength, to handle people in clinches, wrestle around etc.

Really. I'm surprised this is even being debated.

What, you don't think the 6'1" Paul Williams could make HW someday? Everyone knows, except apparently you, that Floyd is a blown up lightweight. Its irrelevant. This isn't a weightclass comparison.

Not sure. Floyd was pushing Hatton around. He may have an elusive style but the dude isn't weak.

I understand the question. Conditioning isn't simply cardio. Mayweather imo is the better conditioned fighter. I.E. I think he can do more pushup, situps, pullups, etc.

What other way do you measure strength?

Still Cotto, I dont think May can hold off Margarito the way Cotto tried in their fight.

Who would manhandle the other in a clinch? Or perhaps, who could withstand more punishment?

floyd is 5'9'' to miguel's 5'7'' is it? in an arm wrestling contest it would be impossible to tell as miguel's a lefty and floyd's a righty. being a compact fighter like cotto or hatton imo their punches might look more devastating than they really are kinda like tyson's did. i think despite floyd's style, his training methods are unmatched and has carried his weight around pretty good. that he was knocking out more fighters in the lighter divisions i think was more because of the quality of fighters were not as good as the higher ones. i think it's a close one both are pretty strong. cotto has a shorter neck and both have big shoulders. it depends. maybe miguel can squat more or bench more, while floyd probably is better at curling or doing chinups and carrying his weight around. it's almost like comparing Julio Cesar Chavez to Meldrick Taylor in some ways. lets just put it this way, their both ****ing strong

Just because Floyd may be a better all around athlete and in better "condition" does not mean he is physically stronger than Cotto. Cotto is really strong. I have met him a bunch of times and he is not tall but he is well built. Then again, I'm not saying he will beat PBF, nor that he is a more skilled fighter , but in my mind he is physically much stronger without doubt.

You really aren't sure are you?

Cotto is no Hatton....Cotto is a true welterweight....Hatton made an effort to move up.

At the end of the fight Gayweather will call Cotto " Daddy "
