I do rankings based on past performances vs others fighters past performances, not who I think is the best in the future vs the others based on those performances. For instance, I don't think you can have Taylor in the top five, maybe not even the top ten, until he faces and beats someone already there. And Lacy isn't it. And his performance although victorious, wasn't outstanding. It just isn't fair to everyone else who has been fighting and working there way up the division ladder for years.

He had a fairly close second fight with Pavlik above 160 and the Lacy fight. The Hopkins fights and definitely the Cory Spinks fight could have gone the other way. KO'd by Pavlik after having him down. Draw with Wright. Won most of the rounds vs Ouma but disturbingly was being pushed around the ring more as the fight went on.

You can pick apart any fighters fights including all the top super middles, Taylor is obviously fighting at the highest level based on his opponents, but lets see him take out a top ten super middle before we skip him over all their names.

Same thing with Manny Pacquiao, who is one of my faves, David Diaz was a very good first win at 135 and so was Marquez taking out Casamayor, but neither should put them above Nate Campbell, although both those wins were by far bigger value wins than Taylor or Lacy at 168.

All very interesting, but what is your ranking?

After Froch vs. Pascal, I got me

    1 Kessler
    2 Bute
    3 Andrade
    4 Taylor
    5 Bika
    6 Berrio
    7 Inkin
    8 Froch
    9 Ward
    10 Dirrell

Fight with Pascal was a rough, rough type affair. Neither of these fellers is truly world class. Maybe Pascal is getting better but Froch ain't gonna. Damn, feller Froch has no defence but he ain't stupid neither. He used his jab well to control the fight in the end. Pascal's fought a hard fight and he sure is a classy feller but Froch was too strong and tough and hard hitting for him. Top 20 this Pascal feller tho. I thought Froch was better than what he turned out to be. His power ain't all that and his chin ain't iron neither. I have him bottom Top 10 but again I'm not sure about the bottom half at all. Can't see me Froch beating Bika or Andrade tho. Taylor would tap that ass like he tapped Lacy. Can't blame him for wanting to fight Froch after he's seen him against Pascal. Sure is an easy way to win a strap.

Zuniga's nothing special but then Pascal ain't either and fellers still rate him. Happens a lot. When a fighter fights for a title fellers start overrating him.

I watched only 6 rounds and it was pretty even but a boring fight.I heard Inkin won it cleanly, even scored a KD.Anyway Green is at least(or should be) higher than Zuniga.

Here's my post from the other thread about it:

    1. Kessler
    2. Bute
    3. Taylor
    4. Froch
    5. Inkin
    6. Andrade
    7. Bika
    8. Dirrell
    9. Pascal
    10. Karoly Balzsay

That's my top 10 right now, but to be honest there's not a ton of separation between most of the list. Even going 15-20 deep can get you some great matchups as this is one of the deepest divisions in the sport right now IMO. Guys like Ward, Miranda, and Sartison are just on the outside and would be competitive with most of the top 10, and Danny Jacobs has a ton of potential as well and is progressing very nicely.
