When the term "excuse" is used. It has the implication that a fighter is not taking responsibility in his defeat, but rather blaming it on so and so's X factor.

The reality of the situation is that MOST people Floyd has fought couldn't catch him. Their REASON or EXCUSE for not being able to beat Floyd is "He's just too fast."

Diego never was a WW.....I think he faught at 140 which was his highest wieght class.

Paul has always been a BIG Welter weight and many have said that. Marg is a BIG WW but not too big. He's just very strong at 147.

I don't agree that Marg is too big at WW when Paul is also fighting at that weight.

I agree that's the rules. Until they change them like fight night weigh-ins i's, the world we have to live in.

Cotto didn't quit. He was defeated.

    DeLaHoya quit on his stool.

    Learn the difference

If Paul never existed or wasn't fighting at WW, then no one would argue that Margarito is a big ****in' WW. Face it...there's 2 giants in the division right now...one just happens to be much bigger than the other. That doesn't erase the damn fact that theyre both quite large for WW.

You know, I was pissed before that a middleweight reject stepped in and was allowed to fight way way smaller men but now I dont care. Let Williams back in so I can see him get ko'd and laugh my ass off.

I'm not debating this with you considering we had a LONG ass thread on the subject.

SO just for the cheap seats.

Yea he "quit" in the dictionary sense of the word.

Not to be a smart ass or deny that he'd didn't say he quit...but I'd like a source so I can read this for myself. Context in interviews go HIGHLY misunderstood.

I would like to read this for myself...

Cotto did quit, but it was beaten out of him as well, Floyd quit when it was clear that Margarito was going to top off the divison with this win.

It's welterweight, not welterheight, so what's the controversy?
