David Haye won the Undisputed Cruiserweight title from Frenchmen Jean Marc Mormeck. How does Mormeck comapre to Vitali Klitschko in defense, boxing skill, punching power, stanima, experiance, chin, etc?

Just curious from Haye fans what they think the gap is between the top level of Cruiserweight that Haye had to fight compared to Heavyweights that he will fight.

Do a lot of you think Mormeck is just as good as Vitali Klitschko? Or that Mormeck had a style advantage that gave him a better chance against Haye or something? Because I have read a lot of people picking Haye to destroy Vitali. Mormeck almost took Haye out and gave him lots of trouble. And he hasn't fought one live body at HW yet.

Haye did not fight to the best of his capacities in that fight. It was obvious

Mormeck does have a good style against Haye. Haye struggled with Mormeck, and also at a lower class Fragomeni. What do they have in common? Short, come forward fighters that put pressure on him and don't allow him leverage.

Which fighters did he blast out most impressively? Enzo and Gurov. What do they have in common? Tall, stand up boxers.

We are talking about a completely different animal in Vitali of course. I don't think its going to be so much a styles issue, its simpler. It comes down to Vitali will likely be able to take Haye's shots, whilst the reverse is untrue.

What about the Fragomeni fight? Why was Fragomeni all over Haye the entire fight? Fragomeni is a tough guy but is a slow, undersized CW with little punching power.

So, Haye has trouble with small Cruiserweights, who don't worry about defense and lack punching power.

    :huh

    Mormeck has good defence.

It is quite clear: Haye is troubled by fighters who are shorter than he is and fight crouched/have a tight guard.

Haye fairs well against boxers who stand up and jab with him.

Styles will not matter in the fight because of Vitali's size and chin.

He has trouble with guys that he is punching down on that get inside where he can't get the full extension on punches. Consider that speed and power are his two most important attributes, they become very difficult to use if a guy is in your chest. This is not difficult.

Put somebody rigid and tall and he's performed much better. That's not to say he has a great chance against Vitali, because he's not a tall cruiserweight, he's a giant heavyweight and its an unknown quantity again. But mostly it isn't going to matter about styles.

Mormeck has a good defense? Really!

Haye has faired well against glass chinned Cruiserweights like Enzo, Gurov. They just both happen to be tall.

He has a high guard and decent head movement.

Haye found it easier to land his money punch, because he could throw punches over the jab.

What styles do you think Haye fairs well against then?

He doesn't think he stands well against any styles. It started out looking like a legit question and boxing thread, but ultimately its agenda ridden as usual.

Glass chinned fighters that Haye can land one punch and knock them out. He is a good puncher. I don't think Haye's boxing skills/ defense are as great as people claim they are. People claim he is the Hayetrix and no can hit him because he is too quick at HW. I seem remeber the rather slow Fragomeni and Mormeck landing a lot of punches.

Haye is completely unproven at Heavyweight. He has not fought one live body at HW. Cliff Couser recently Ko'd Barrett in 2 rounds. Audley Harrison beat Bonin. That should really tell something.
