I don't really post much i just like to read, laugh, cry, nod or shake my heads at the comments lol. One topic that frequently comes up is the question of a boxers chin and whether it is good or bad. Now I was watching the Taylor v Chavez fight the other day and Chavez got his hundreds of times yet neva even looked like going down. Similarly with Margarito agaist Cintron & Cotto. Chavez, Margarito and Jake Lamotta (Raging Bull lol) are my picks for the best chin, who's everybody elses. Please try to give reasons because I am intersted to know why you chose so and so. P.S If such a thread has already been made I apologise lol
The topic comes up like every month, most posters seem to make a similar thread (I did when I first came here as well). Outside of some of the more obvious names, Kid Gavilan is worth a mention. Never stopped in about 150 fights, went the distance twice with peak Welterweight Ray Robinson, and only knocked down twice, once by Ike Williams and the other by Carmen Basilio.
Thanks some I'm making a standard rookie error lol. Yeh I've seen his record but didnt want to say cos I never saw him fight a remarkable career tho
Gavilan was an immensely skilled and versatile fighter, like I said he's worth a mention for the topic, but the greatest chin of all-time probably belonged to a guy who relied almost entirely on his toughness. A guy like Marion Wilson fits the bill.
O I see wat u mean great chin as in by far outweighing all his other assets which, when u look at his record and whos on it could be seen as the greatest.
George Chuvalo, Randall "Tex" Cobb, or Oliver McCall. All of these guys took murderous punches throughout their careers and just kept coming.
