I think Wlad has done enough to make the hall of fame.

Ironically, the biggest obstacle to Wlad's hopes of being an ATG has arguably always been his brother.

Wlad is a HOF fighter by the lowish standards they set but he isn't a top 15 HW and may never be. However the HOF can be harsh against none Americans and is a subjective organisation.

 

Is he HOF worthy? Yes. Even if the HOF had higher standards he'd still have my vote.

Does this have anything to do with knockout percentages? No

If he fights and beats any 2 out of Haye, Valuev, Povetkin, Chagaev than he definently deserves consideration for the Hall. Possibly 3 of the 4 if he looks bad doing it.

Well they could create a single lineal champion and the sanctioning bodies would be powerless to prevent it.

The catch is that to do this they have to fight eachother which they will never do.

 

There are plenty of questionable fighters in the HOF so I wouldnt find it a surprise if he does get in, However until he gets the words Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the world read during his introductions, comparisons to Liston, Foreman and Lewis are null and void.
For me the Klitschkos are not champions due to their failure to fight each other. I totally understand their position but they chose to both compete in a sport where fighting the best is how a champion is found. Vitali should have stayed retired to let little brother unify and cement a position rather than both fight and hand pick opponents and hold the division to ransom.

 

I never said that they would beat him but he ain't steam rolling them that is for sure. Plus those two , in proper shape and motivated, WILL land on him, especially Sanders who is significantly faster than Liston in the early going. Brewster swallowed full bore WK jabs and right hands and kept on coming, he also WILL close the distance over Sonny's slow jab and nail him. Both guys are strong as a ox so please no Sonny is gonna man handle them ............those are 50/50 fights for Sonny plus another thing, his chin would be severlely checked and he flat out quit against the relative light hitting Ali no ifs or buts. Brewster's chin is levels above Liston's. Fact.

Also in both match ups he would not have the advantage of being the bigger guy like he had for the majority of his career. Again no cakewalk.

On a side note, when Tyson and Liston were all washed up in their fare well fights, Tyson ate dozens of unanswered powershots from 250 pound C level Williams and McBride and basiclly said , f it , I am done, with clear eyes while big bad Sonny was ICED with ONE SHOT from a similar journeyman. Liston 's chin ain't granite against skilled 230-250 pound 6.3/6.5 and up heavyweights, far from it, I bet the house on it.

I think his general intention was to point out that Clay was still a bit young, green, and a work still in progress. I have to agree with him. In 1964, Cassius was awesome, no question about it. I do not however think that that he reached his optimal peak until maybe two or three years later though.

I know some people don't mind having both Klitschkos on top but hey, call me old-fashioned, I like having The Man in the division.

The guy that should be The Man, Wlad, was practically genuflecting before Vitali when he beat Peter. Saying he was the best champion and so on. I know it's brotherly love but I miss the drive to be the true undisputed number one guy. Even when Byrd was considered the top guy around he never seemed all that capable or interested in living up to that image. Wlad fits the image to a tee but still seems to feel inferior his to brother.

Well, enough psychoanalysis...
