Lennox Lewis on Vitali Quitschko

Surely both guys must wonder what would have been if Vitali had not got such a bad cut. Vitali was up on the cards but would he have made it through the championship rounds or Lewis for that matter. There was some bad intentions in that leather being thrown.

 

..it was upset of the year in the making, but apparently wasnt meant to be. :-(

 

Vitali is looks like a very good win...

Vitali would not have had such a bad cut if he wasn't blocking shots with his face.

Lewis did say he would rematch him and did retire instead of facing him again. I do however agree that Vitali should just let it go. It's ancient history now.

 

I do feel bad for Vitali, as the Lewis loss will always haunt him. The Byrd "Loss" was something that he could easily deal with, it was and injury that beat him, not Byrd.

The Lewis fight was Vitali's chance at greatness and true linear recognition. It WILL always haunt him. It was a potentially career defining opportunity that has become an unfulfilled obsession. Hopefully he'll have a couple of additional fights before he retires -- now he just needs quality opponents.

 

Says Lewis who then immediately turns around and tells David Haye that he will assist him in training to beat Vitali Klitschko.

We all know that Lewis backed down like an old lion refusing to fight for his territory. Vitali retired Lewis, it's the truth. Lewis was trying like hell, and SUING Mike Tyson to get back into the ring with him... trying to get a fight with Roy Jones.... then the WBC ORDERED Lewis to fight Vitali or lose his title within 30 days, and Lewis quickly retired.

 

Could you possibly come up with a more pathetically lame nickname for Vitali? Doubt it.

 

And Rahman retired Vitali, so what is your point?

Vitali gained more from that loss to Lewis than i think he would gain if lennox was to retun and if vitali was to beat him.Vitali lost that fight to an out of conditioned unmotivated Lewis but in loosing the fight the way he did he also lost the title of been a quiter!he should be thankfull.
