if the fights in yankee stadium that means there will be alot of cheap seats and a lot of expensive seats..

plus its in a high traffic city like nyc which means a lot of out of towners will be in for the event..

your probably right about the first couple but it would surpass the hype of mayweather & dlh ... and it would because the under ground boxing community would create such a buzz for it that the mainstream would have to be forced to pay attention

plus floyd did a smart thing by laying low after the hatton fight... that way when he fights again (in this imaginary situation ) when he fights cotto again... his name will be fresh in the minds of the mainstream.. so when he's on 24 acting like a damn fool... the act isnt old

i was over exaggerating on purpose... just the fact alone that i as a poster could hype you up as another poster to actually believing my hype makes me wonder what someone like bob arum or oscar de la hoya whos actually a professional could get away with

the only person that has selling power like that is hatton.. nobody has had the balls to try it because you would need an event with enough hype capable of selling out an arena.. oscar cant do it .. only person that could have probably sold out an arena in our time is tyson... you gotta keep things in perspective ... not very many people want to go to boxing matches unless its garunteed to be something special.. i live in miami and i try to convince my friends to come with me to hard rock every time theres a fight here....

everytime i go theres atleast 4+ knock outs and i can say that with confidence and my friends still dont care... why ? because they dont want to waste there money on something they think might be boring

the regular public wont fill out an arena to see anyone in boxing today unless you make the correct matchup...only hatton & paqiou can do that but it would have to be in the uk.... floyd & cotto would have been able to do that in nyc if cotto never lost because of the peurto rican following..... i mean if you can put yourself in the mind of a puerto rican ... the magnitude & potential of an event like this would be to much to pass up and im 100% sure that the pueto rican/pro cotto/latino attendance ALONE would be in the 30,000-40,000's... thats not including floyd supporters or just random boxing celebrities...

at the end of the day floyd vs cotto would generate enough people to make it work... i mean honestly think about it i bet pretty much everyone you know has some kind of family or close friends who live in nyc.... i know i personally do and if this event came off i could easily coherse 4 of my friends alone to go to this even plus my 2 brothers and father...... floyds fan base is bigger than you think...

but it wouldnt be floyds fan base that sells the fight it would be the epic perportions of the event...and if you think about it also... just the fact that its in nyc on the 4th of july would mean that... the puerto rican fanbase would stir up enough buzz for this thing to be rediculous all on its on..

peurto ricans everywhere would be shouting out Cotto is going to kill mayweather

that will pit other cultures (primarily black) to cheer for mayweather out of sheer competition of culture...

trust me this fight would rank in the top 10
