It depends on the money I'm getting for my brother :!::!: Something inside me is telling that Evender will chop Valuev down. I had the same feeling before the Pavlik - BHop fight.
Valuev is slow, slow feet, slow hands. He does have a decent jab though. I think Holyfield may be able to pull this out if he can move for 12 rounds. I don't see him getting hit much unless he gases. Could it be a super-sized slow mo of Pac. and DLH? (without a KO though)
I second that! If Holyfield were to somehow pull this off then his all-time ranking would no doubt be even further solidated! By the same token, if Evander were to be a title holder again, what would that say for a HW division that already widely acknowledged to be in a dire state? Evander is 46 FFS!
It'd be a huge accomplishment for Holyfield, coming back after tough losses. I still think Valuev beats him by UD.
Evander's historical standing is not going to be much use if he's dribbling in a cup... But well, okay, let's look. For starters, Valuev would be written off as an utter joke and his entire career seen as bogus. Doesn't matter what he's done, who he's beaten, he'll be known forever as the guy that lost to rusty shot 46-year-old Holyfield above any beyond anything else. His time in the division will be seen as freak show, novelty stuff. Holyfield will get a split of people shooting him up their ATG charts, and people saying "how ****ing bad is the HW division these days?" More importantly, he gets a big target on his head. Both Klitschkos will want to fight him, or an enthusiastic younger heavyweight wanting to make a name for himself will do the same. As Holyfield has proven himself capable of competing at the top level again, they will fight him accordingly. Holyfield has not fought an opponent that really went for the old guy in a ruthless manner since Toney thumped him in 2003. Nobody wants to underestimate him, but nobody also wants to be the guy that puts Holy in a wheelchair. Ibragimov and Oquendo fought extremely tactically and did nothing past the bare minimum needed to win (or so Oquendo thought...) Bates and Maddalone tried but simply didn't have the skill to land much. A younger Savarese may have done, and indeed landed a great uppercut in the 3rd, but he was even worse off than Holyfield by that point. If Holyfield wins it suddenly means that he's a wanted man, and whoever fights him will be looking to take him out as efficiently and brutally as possible. No more respect for the old guy, no letting him down easily, he's got a belt and others will want it.
Yes, it seems that Valuev (or at least his handlers) want to part of either Klitschko. We all know Holyfield won't back down from a challenge, so perhaps it's better that Holyfield wins so we can have a linear champion after he loses to Wlad.
If Evander does manage somehow to win then he should be in the top 10 ATG HWs on everybody's lists.Sadly I don't think it will happen. WAR HOLYFIELD!!!!!
if Holyfield wins it will be the worse thing that could happen to him, he will then seek out the klitschkos, But damn it would be an honor to see such a shocker. his ATG status will rise greatly if this does happen
