Why did Kevin Iole criticise Calzaghe as well?

Rafael is not alone. Quite a few journalists have lit into Calzaghe recently. Even Bunce said he has been ashamed of Calzaghe's choices and comments.

Its cool for him to give that statement to the BBC or to Sentana, but to the US, Calzaghe is nothing more than an average fighter ... the US crowd already has someone for him to face (Chad Dawson) ... with the recent loss to RJJ and the decline of the LHW division is in limbo, and the US crowd wants him to fight Chad Dawson.

He doesn't have the respect of the US fans ... he hasn't proven himself to us ... and we can easily find someone for him to fight ... and always find someone for him to fight.

He's not Floyd Mayweather, he can't do that ...

I agree with Dan Rafael ... we haven't seen enough of you to demand you ... retire and/or stay in the UK and fight. There are enough personalities in the US already w/o a Brit talking nonsense.

I don't know of any boxer out of the UK that has the respect of US fans ... and if he thinks he can make that quote and get away with it, he has another thing coming.

His ploy for getting a bigger purse isn't going to be a second thought of true American fans ... his PPV fight w/ Roy Jones flopped ... he's not going to do **** as a promoter ... and his 24/7 was by far the worst of all 4.

Elaborate on that if you would. I don't read Rafael very much.

It's true, if you take Oscar for example, he knows what it takes to promote fights and do well at the gate. It also helps to be popular here in the U.S.

Calzaghe-Jones had the potential to do well because casual fans are familiar with Jones and would've liked to see this fight. Joe didn't promote well and if he still had Warren on board, it would have certainly done better.

I keep seeing James Toney's name brought up as a possible Calzaghe opponent.

Please tell me when this fight ought to have been made ?

    A month and a year.

And when did Toney fight Hopkins ?

Distinguished. The man can't tell his ass from a hole in the ground !

    Another distinguished fool !

    Hindsight is always 20-20 !

Lennox Lewis, Winky Wright, Bernard Hopkins, Jeff Lacy, Paul Maligani, Glenn Johnson among many others, all picked Jones.

Some by UD and some by KO.

And guess who else picked Roy ?

    Yep, you guessed it.

    The distinguished Idiot, Dan Rafael.

    New levels of hypocrisy !

Hopefully Joe will fight on and confront this fat ****!

  14. Well, Rafael looks over 40 so he does meet the proper requirements. I think he might weigh too much though.
