I always liked Lampley altough lately he had some not so good performances.The thought that Papa might replace him is terrifying.
I think Lampley is the greatest play by play man in boxing history. He's special. A presence. Invaluable to HBO Boxing. We take him for granted. When he leaves, his absence will be felt.
dont like him. he always says something weird like mayweather's beautiful smile, and this boxers beautiful body. oh yeah and he beats his wife's ass. i know he has a job but i find his announcing extremely biased and you can tell who his favorite is from the way he calls the fight.
lampley owns PAPA. Farhood, and everyone else....that was a great call in the JT fight...just listen to lampley and listen to that nerd farhood
I love Lampleys play calling. His excitement makes for a special memory when a fight is stopped or a brawl is happening.

I think he's a great commentator. Miles above any that we have here in Britain. His voice helps build up a sense of occasion. I think him and Manny Steward with Larry Merchant are the perfect team. I don't like when Max Kellerman commentates though, he's annoying and offers little insight for me.
