It has to if his only promotion is a co-promotion with Roy. Otherwise how do you Judge?

If as you say Roy is a known **** promoter, then what was Dan expecting, that Joe was gonna be that good at this first attempt it could negate how **** poor Roy was, It doesnt make sense.

By the way it was a **** promotion, and undercard, but blame has to be shared, surely.

There's no reason to pile on Roy, Roy has already been criticised time and time again for being a bad representitive of the sport. Calzaghe is the one who just came out and lambasted the state of the sport. Meanwhile, he's one of the guys who have contributed to the current problem. He had his chance to do something about it and he didn't. He was more interested in lining his pockets than he was of putting on a quality product. If that's what Calzaghe wants to do, that's fine. However, don't go around lambasting the sport that made you rich and famous when you're a part of the problem.

It's times like this I wish boxers would not say a ****in word. EVER.

I was a bigger Mayweather jr. fan before he started talking bull****. And now same with Calzaghe. Calzaghe is coming off like a twat.

I wasnt piling on Roy, I was pointing out if Dan wants to make a serious article on Calzaghe's **** promoting, then going by a Co-promotion doesnt make sense,Unless you mention both Promoters. If that reflects badly on Roy then tough, that promotion is Dan's basis for the article and cant be ignored.

Calzaghe's comments were nothing new, Tarver,SRR,Duran have all come out criticising the current state of the sport, not to mention web Journos and so called proffesional journos aswell. The reaction to Calzaghe's comments is farcical. He is part of the problem though, because he is part of Boxing, so he should have expected some criticisim. But the level of it is insane.

Boxers have done that since it began, Calzaghe is no different to the rest of them.

I disagree, Calzahge is the one who made the comment. It's fitting that he feel the backlash. After all, he's the one who made th hypocritical comments.

More red herrings. Don't act like this is the first time a boxer has been criticised for questionable remarks.

calzaghe is different to the rest of them because "the rest of them" fought on the world stage.

when you don't crack the US market but hold a title without US recognition, which is where the money and notoriety is made, then you're always going to play second fiddle.

You're sounding way too fair and balanced here.

Again, Roy has been getting criticised for being a poor reperesentitive of the sport for years. Many American fighters have gotten lambasted by the media. You guys need to stop pretending that Calzaghe is the first fighter to get the business from the media. It happens all the time.

Like i said he deserved some criticisim, but the level he got/getting is pathetic.

Im not acting like that, infact it's my point, nothing was said by him that wasn't said before, a reaction was inevitable, but IMO it's been way over the top.

    agreed.

but roy made his name on th world stage while joe made his on warren's.

how many warren fighters have been allowed to test themselves overseas and why do you think ricky hatton left him and got a fight against the best fighter in the world after doing so, while joe 'settled' for faded legends?

please answer the question this time and not with a question - if you believe in what you say.

its been 'over the top' becuase hes such a damn good fighter who is trying to 'cement his legacy' on past it greats and he could have done better - or at least given it a shot.
