:goodI know, waiting for the hate... but honestly, I do think he's the best and, for me, he beat Barrera pretty comfortably.

Yes, I was actually going to say something along those lines, but as you said JMM looked good against a faded, but nonetheless still capable Casamayor and we've yet to see how well he carries the weight at 140....

I think it's almost a stick on to take place at 140....I'm assuming that Pacquaio will take on Hatton and perhaps even Mayweather at the weight and it would therefore make sense to happen there...I believe JMM has also said he intends to move up eventually too?

And I do agree. Pac looked great at 147 never mind 140 and the way in which he has been able to take his speed and power through the weights is incredible really. I would say he is the safer bet....all things considered.

Still very hard to call though right now...

A faded MAB many would argue...

I think he may very well get there, but for now I'd rank Barrera and perhaps even Morales above him....JMM does not have a win the calibre of Eriks over Pac just yet...rightly or wrongly that is a fact.

but his fights with Pac are considered, correctly, far more competitive. what Morales did in the first Pac fight was sensational, but JMM will always be considered Pac's true nemesis and Barrera 1 Pac's signature win.

Pac and JMM lift each other in the rankings of the modern greats, imo

It's definetly tough to say and I would certainly agree with you that JMM is Pac's true nemesis(despite having officially failed to beat him) but I just think he needs to do a little bit more to match MAB certainly. He has a very good resume indeed.

On a side note, his beating of the obnoxious plonker that was(and is) Naseem Hamed remains one of my favourite boxing memories...so perhaps I'm a little biased :D

A far superior fighter to the one-dimensional Pacquiao, and was extremely unlucky to not get the verdict in both of those fights.

Naz was and is an idiot, but I do think he should be remembered as a tremendously gifted fighter - to say anything else takes something away from MAB's brilliance that night. That will always be MAB's signature win (and Morales his true nemesis).

Linked to another thread, though, they are the latest of the greatest fab fours

That last fight with Pacman the last round I was screaming for him to stay on his feet! Damn that was a great fight. Nothing but repsect for both of them dudes!

I don't think anyone could shower you in hate for that comment mate, many will disagree but it's a perfectly valid opinion, JMM is a great fighter. Personally, I still have him behind both Barrera and Morales as I think their resumes are easily superior, but the way JMM is going, he could close that gap over the next couple of years.
