Who has the greater legacy, Joe Calzaghe or Bernard Hopkins?

    Yeah, so how about it?

    Hopkins undisputed Middleweight champion took on the toughest challengers and ducked NOBODY! Moved up to 175 and defeated my hero Antonio Tarver (which is ok, because I'm a Hopkins fan also) Winky Wright and Kelly Pavlik.

    I can't remember ANYTHING Joe C has done, because he only has a string of old men, stiffs, shot fighters and bums on his resume.

    So what do you say ESB?

    Hopkins, easily.

    I am no fan of his, but he has actually beaten quality opponents in their prime.

    Calzaghe hasn't - ever.

    As a brit and a calzaghe fan (even though his "boxing is dying" comments really ****ed me off) I'd have to say Hopkins.

    I look at their opponents over the years and Hopkins has consistently faced better fighters not just in the last two years. Calzaghe was shielded, and he was thanks to Warren - no doubt offers came in.

    Bottom line is that the likes of Calzaghe v Jones/Hopkins should've happened years ago. I actually thought JC v RJJ was a bit farcical.

    Calzaghe, he beats guys that are bigger than him, Hopkins only beats up on blown up smaller people.

    Oh and of Course a slightly shot Calzaghe pummeled Hopkins, Calzaghe would win every fight Hopkins had been in, had people dared step in with him.

    "***** slapped" Hopkins :lol: I don't think he even managed to do that, he couldn't land shite all night, and got put on his backside by a grandad.

    Beating quality, prime small opponents is better than beating up on old, shot opponents.

    Even in his WBO reign of error, most of the guys he beat were past their peak, bums or late replacements.

    Richie Woodhall never fought again
    Evans Ashira is a blown up LMW
    Rick Thornberry was a bum
    Ditto Pudwill
