Sorry, 10 world Champions beg to differ, besides, as stated, had people not been afraid of Joe, and you place all hopkins opponents against Joe, Joe would still be undefeated, can you imagine the shame Calzaghe would feel, stepping in against tiny ole De La Hoya? what a farce that was, even Pac would have faired better!

Calzaghe barely landed a single effective punch all night - looking at Compubox won't change that fact.

Perhaps he would - perhaps he wouldn't.

But if that is the case, then why the hell didn't he?

After beating Eubank he stagnated badly for 9 years - with only a couple of decent wins between that and the Lacy fight. The quality of opposition barely increased at all, no unification fights, I mean, WTF?

At this point it's 75% to 25% in favor of Hopkins.

I guess that really tells ya what the people think.

Hopkins, and it's not even close.

Calzaghe and I've justified it before in very great detail, so people already no my opinion on the matter.

It is close however, and I don't really mind people giving Hopkins the nod, especially in light of his exception victory over Pavlik.

However, don't be fooled by the Hopkins humpers: Bernard's record is not half as good as many would have you believe especially if you analyse it in depth.

Watch the ****ing fight again - look for a CLEAN, EFFECTIVE PUNCH (not a SLAP).

The first one is in about round 4

Calzaghe did outwork Hopkins but barely landed anything and was made to look amateurish at times.

Ehhh this is a difficult subject.

Hopkins: Middleweight champion, defended against dozens of nobodies. Fought elite level fighters who were so much smaller than him that they probably never belonged in the same ring (Tito, Oscar...). Lost to close-to-prime RJJ. Lost to a white boy. Whooped some old guys like Tarver and Winky, but recently dethroned prime Kelly Pavlik proving what I've been saying for a few years - Hopkins hasn't lost it at all, he's as good as he was 5 years ago he's just been fighting larger and - for him - more difficult opposition in Jermain Taylor and Joe Calzaghe. The guy doesn't age.

Calzaghe: Super middleweight champion, defended against dozens of nobodies. Beat elite fighters who were the same size as him but past their primes. Has not lost to a white boy. Whooped Lacy, which, in retrospect, is easy to write off, but it's still significant (no doubt Hopkins would have UD'd him too, though). Kessler win is better than Tarver or old Winky - but I think few would admit this.

Really, Hopkin's recent win does a lot for him...but he lost to a white boy. So I gotta give it to Joe.
