both different sizes. yet pretty much same style .though joes chin was weaker. they both had good left hooks a good bobbing and weaving style, and could hand out and take punishment and were usually trained to be fine tuned. does anyone else see and similarities between the two or am i just nuts?
I'm not sure I see the similarity except that they were both brutal. I usually argue when someone questions Frazier's chin, but hell NO ONE had a chin like Lamotta.
janitor i see the similarities to. they both are relentless and keep coming after you ,same bobbing and weaving style and othe stuff mentioned ,but out side of joes chin and size and color what are the differences that you see between lamotta and frazier? they both seem to fight the same way to me and are both just as tough with lamotta getting the edge here..jmo
Their styles were similar in that they both got in your face, had great stamina, and were incredibly tough to boot. They both wanted to make you pay for hitting them, pay for missing them, and for deciding to get into the ring with them. Lamotta may have been just a bit better in the stamina department, along with having the better chin. Joe's speed was better as a heavyweight than Lamotta's as a middleweight. Joe also had more pierce with his punch. Pierce, that is the only way I know how to describe it. I think it is McGrain, or maybe it's magoo, that will tell you that I am trying to claim that Frazier was the more composite puncher. To be honest, I'm drinking. What else is new? So I don't really know what poster is famous, or infamous, for the "composite" description.
