MMA has only one major organization, this is the UFC, Boxing is a worldwide sports and isn't just one big organization.

First of all, it is extremely disrespectful and ignorant to compare masters of their respective martial arts (Brazilian JuJitsu blackbelts, #1 collegiate wrestlers, Olympic wrestlers and judokans and Muy Thai champions) and say that their fighting styles are "back yard brawls without weapons".

Defensive masters like Floyd Mayweather? Lyoto Machida, just as defensive and just as snoozefest boring.

Oscar De La Hoya is a joke of a fighter who hasn't been a serious title contender in years. He just got beat by a fighter whose last fight was 2 weight classes below welterweight, and he only had one fight at that weight. The fact that boxing has a poster child with a pretty face who happens to be 7-9 years outside of his prime and is able to make millions losing fights and conning viewers into paying him 55 bucks to do it doesn't sound like a reason to be a boxing fan at all.

    Oh, and also, most importantly.

    Boxing is FAKE fighting.

It's true but it isn't as bad as boxing with their ABC belts and their mandatory opponents. Evander Holyfield gets a shot at Valuev coming off a loss? Ray Austin got a shot at Wladimir for god knows what reason. Zab Judah keeps on getting title shots and keeps on losing.

At least with Lesnar, as much as he may not have earned his shot, he DID win the fight. If Lesnar beat Couture than it proves he deserved a shot against Couture at least a little bit doesn't it?

my 5 reasons why blue is better than red.

    1) the sky is blue.
    2) you can decorate with the colour blue.
    3) my carpet is blue
    4) you can wear blue jeans
    5) my curtains are blue and i have never seen red curtains anywhere.

i hope these words come close to explaining the stupidity of this thread.

You mentioned Mayweather, Pac, and Oscar in that post.

Yes, I will GLADLY explain to you why boxing is fake fighting. It is a great sport, and it is entertaining, but it isn't real fighting (neither is sanctioned MMA for that matter, but MMA is much much closer.)

Boxing is fake fighting because you are only allowed to throw punches. Boxing is fake fighting because you aren't allowed to wrestle your opponent. Boxing is fake fighting because once you knock someone down he gets 10 seconds to get back up. Boxing is fake fighting because the boxers wear GIANT gloves that cushion the blows. Boxing is fake fighting because you aren't allowed to hold and hit. Boxing is fake fighting because you aren't allowed to use elbows. Boxing is fake fighting because you can't try to choke your opponent. Boxing is fake fighting because you aren't allowed to attempt to break your opponents limbs...

    And on and on...

Boxing is fake fighting, because they dont use groin kicks, stones, knives, guns. Heck you are the calling some boxing bouts wars - they dont even use AK-47...

Boxing is a sport, its a 100% contact, MMA is also a full contact sport, I just hate people who compare the two combat sports, they are totally different.
