Sadly, the end is nigh for Hatton.

Ricky Hatton is stuck, between a rock and a hard place. He only has two possible fights, both of which would be more like excecutions than fights, against Pac or Pbf. in neither fight does Ricky have the skills to be competetive, so really it's a case of who is going to pull the trigger on the hitman?
It will be sad to see Ricky go, but i am sure someone will come through to fill the void left by Hatton.

140 was packed with talent a few years ago, they all moved up to 147. Hatton has made up the convenient excuse that he loses his supposed superpowers a mere 7lbs higher (pbf gubs him at any weight and Collazo was not that big but had a little skill unlike Hatton's usual opponents), so he can stay in the **** poor 140lb division. Even then there are a couple of guys to beat him....Bradley is one.
Wicky probably goes for the money and a near certain kicking against Pacman.

Hatton is too much of a coward to go fight guys like Marg and Cotto so stays in the shite 140 division.

Why did they all move up? Just for a grin?

And who are you talking about anyway? Floyd - who won't fight the big welters? Or Cotto, who got dismantled by a big welter?

Hatton struggled at 147. Floyd hasn't fought any big guys at the weight, except maybe Baldomir who he did a really boring matador job on. Cotto lost to a big welter in devastating fashion. It's patently obvious there is a big size gap between 140 and 147.

If you cannot see the sheer size difference between Hatton and Margarito / Williams then you are a deluded fool.

I remember the sheer size difference between Hatton and guys like Pdersen, Lazcano and many others, lightweights a lot of them were, brought in to make Hatton look good. Funny how Hatton stops looking so formidable when he's facing guys his own size or bigger.
Margo and Williams are massive at the weight...but at the end of the day they weigh in at 147.
Hatton, Cotto.......we're talking about an inch or 2 in height and the same thing in reach. Hardly big differences.
Hatton just isn't good enough to jump up in weight and be effective.

    Halle-****ing-lujah

So we're agreed, fighting bigger / smaller guys makes a difference?

You can't say 'Hatton fought smaller guys to look good' on one hand, then deny that moving to 147 disadvantages him. It doesn't make sense.

Please choose your party line and stick to it, if you're capable.

Oh and if you think there is only a 'one or two inch' difference in height / reach between Hatton and Margarito / Williams, you are plain and simple wrong.

Those two guys have alot of good fighters to match up against in 147 so no need to move up although Marg could go to 154. Hatton is happy being champ at 140 fighting the 2nd raters.

Hatton trades on strength and can make 140. Jr welterweight used to be a poorish division but its really hotting up now and Hatton would be a fool to move up now. He has Pac, JMM, Bradley, Holt, Torres to pick from, why move up to welter and fight guys who are 6"1 and weigh 160+ on fight night?
