Not everyone is 6'1 at welter. Really it showed up what a limited boxer Hatton is up there. Against a guy as poor as Collazo no less. Mosley made this guy look a clown, and Mosley is a former LW. Fortunately 140 has got hotter, and Ricky will have to take a tough fight. Whether its Pacquiao, Bradley, Holt/Torres...whoever.
Neither of those guys could make 140. Cotto hung on for dear life before moving up. You sometimes make decent posts, but on this one you're talking crap. hatton fights at 140 because he's a 140 fighter, Cotto and Margarito fight at 147 because they are 147 fighters.
I know that, but we were discussing one that IS 6"1 in Williams and another, Margo who is 160+ on fight night. Theres no "having" to take a tough fight, 140 is improving and Hatton is actively chasing a Pac fight (like he actively sought a Zoo fight).
the hitman would have only moved up to fight de la hoya & is not scared to fight young, lively boxers(c'mon joe, you & frochy). soon as holt & torres have sorted their trilogy out, any one of them two. ringside when bradley beat witter & he's good & steady but come on....i can see the posters now PACMAN v HITMAN
Because its a rubbish concept, like making a boat out of cardboard. He only went up 7lbs for christ sake. You can **** 7lbs.
No it isn't. What you USED to weight is irrelevant years down the line. People physicaly grow and mature. Shane used to be a junior middle, much more recently than he was a lightweight. You are just conveniently cutting through the facts to suit your flawed and ultimately disproved argument.
And? That doesn't prevent you from moving up 7lbs. Mosley can make 147 as he will do against Margarito, yet he can still compete at 154. But ultimately, when he moves up he can fall back on his skills and speed. Hatton can't, and hence he looks like **** against an average guy like Collazo. He has no skill. That's the main factor, not weight.
A massive part of Hatton's success at 140 is his ability to bully his opponents because he's very strong at the weight and if he looked after himself more could really have fought at 135 earlier in his career. He loses his superior strength and physical attributes against his opponents at 147 that's why he struggles.
Correct. It's a very simple common sense deduction. If you are a very skilled fighter, you shouldn't have a problem putting on 7lbs and easily beating a fringe contender.
7 lbs of muscle is extremely significant. come on mate even you should admit Hatton is too small to be a WW .
Its also a deduction that EVERYONE has come to. Your second sentence is just your usual tactic of positioning the goalposts on what constitutes a top fighter in order to exclude Hatton. To call Collazo a "fringe contender" is ridiculous, he was a titlist, beaten by Hatton at short notice in another weight division. He's also still number 8 at 147 with The Ring.
A titlist. Wow. Who did he beat again? We know the types of fighter that can get belts these days. Ranked #8 by ring? So in other words...a fringe contender for belts. Collazo is mediocre and you know it. Past prime Mosley whooped his ass all over the ring.
