I often see posts on here stating the Jones had a glass jaw, do you believe it to be true or fair?

    Whoops posted in wrong forum....*blush*

No, there are many examples of him being hit clean and taking it.

Thinking about it, it probably is.

Anyway, not from him, I just saw a post saying "battle of the glass jaws" though (a fight between Haye, and Jones), and it made me think. Sure Roy went down like a log against Tarver, and Johnson, but he was pretty much done then, imo. It doesn't really mean he had a glass Jaw.

Nowadays, maybe. It's quite hard to defend getting knocked out cold by Glen Johnson.

He hasn't always had that of course. Despite what people will tell you, he did get hit at his peak and he took it well.

I think it was something to do with him coming down from heavyweight. I think he messed his body up.

i dont think he has alot of resistance becuase he can be chinned...but i dont feel that he is glass jawed. he can take a punch if it comes to it. del val landed a killer jab-cross onto his chin (he was wobbled and looked to regain his composure) but he can take mor epunishment than most believe.

i think it has somthing to do with wondering what jones weakness was he had power, speed, reflexes, boxing skills and stamina. but alot wondered what would happen if he got hit hard. and he got laid flat when he was tagged hard in the end....but these are some hail mary shots along with some bad footwork and positioning from jones.

i think it's just coincidence that he was koed awfully

jones can take a punch better than most agree.

no, not at all. Johnny Ruiz ruined him (lost the fight but won the event and all that) and it took Jones a couple of years to recover. Against Johnson he just lay on the ropes getting beat up the whole time, it was ridiculous.

When you dehydrate your lose water from your brain which is a massive problem, this makes getting KO easier, the body needs to be fully hydrated, most migraines are from dehydration, the brain will switch off faster when its dry, you would do we to remember this.

No he got caught by Tarver....it happens.

As for Johnson, he got beat by the better fighter that night. To be honest ive never seen Jones that bad. Physically he was there but i dont think he was mentally, for whatever reason.

Thats just a symptom of how relatively "done" he was rather than him having a career glass jaw (whatever the hell that is)
