i hope it is too, and yes it does make a lot of sense.

ironically, mads larsen is less deserving of a bute fight than kessler. a certain rematch we can all think of would be much more meaningful for bute.

dont forget that kessler has HBO exposure but his team dismissed the miranda fight even though HBO were hot for it.

if team taylor were to take a froch fight over kessler because they thought it was the 'safer' route to a belt then in a way it would be poetic justice for palle's negative train of thought...but an injustice to kessler.

he just needs to fight in the states instead of going to watch the fighters he wants to fight...

while palle was making the sartisan 'fight' and a bul**** defence they had froch and bute as potential opponents for my mind to line up.

now those guys appear to be taken and palle's 'belt' isn't worth **** while that remains true.

why, in a limited division, when kessler has already got a solid reputation and even the endorsement of calzaghe after he moved up that kessler was "the second best super middleweight in the world" would an old fart like palle take such a negative route?

i swear i could manage his career better.

    You make some valid points.

It is farcical when you think about this in simple terms. Two non-Americans are fighting in America. They will fill a small stadium only. The fans of these two have to travel 12 hours. The fans of these fighters back home have to set the alarm clocks and hit the Red Bull.

But thats money. In an ideal world it wouldn't be like this, but as it is there is nothing that can be done.

Thing is though of course it is all about money. I am a British guy, and as much as I would like to see more big fights staged in the U.K it just isn't likely to happen. Our production values for the PPV's are nowhere near as good as the Americans do, we don't have the mega bucks promoters they do and we don't have the audience they do. Ok so boxing is in a bit of a slump but I don't blame americans for that, its just a slump.

    Hatton vs Mayweather PPV buy's

    USA 850,000

    UK 1,200,000

    The Audience is defiantly there.
Although number's are way down from the 20 million that watched Barry McGuigan beat Eusebio Pedroza for the WBA Featherweight title in 1985.

I agree with that. I pretty much understand Calzaghe's recent statement as well. He's leaving Wales and the UK because the (US) hardcore fanbase demands him to leave his 'protected cave', so he's going to the so-called Mecca of boxing, both Las Vegas and NY, and the US fight fans fail to show up - even those who demanded it. Corrales-Castillo was held before 3.000. Pavlik-Hopkins, the two best US fighters (and the only two on the P4P list back than) couldn't fill the arena, and Pavlik supposedly has the largest non-latino fanbase. Also horrible ratings and PPV, goodby Solo Boxeo etc. In Germany, any Sturm, Klitschko or Abraham fight can pack an arena, no matter who are they fighting.

Still, the casino fees and the money HBO puts down is pretty big. The Hatton-Lazcano fight didn't do better financially for Hatton than the Malignaggi fight, no matter how many tens of thousands of fans turned up in Manchester. Which is sad, but what can you do about it?

But I agree absulutely. If the US fans don't show up in large numbers, why the hell should tens of thousands of other fans travel across the ocean, when they are the ones who fill up the arena anyway? Bad economy... they still travel, but they shouldn't be asked to do that.

There is no way in God's green Earth that Freddie and Arum would subject Manny to the bull**** Tszyu had to take.
You had an elite P4P fighter visit your island in June of 2005 and look what happened.
Are you surprised no elite fighter has visited since?

the olympics scoring and rules should be change, ppv price tags should be less, and only because the heavyweight division is not at its highest doesnt mean all of boxing is suffering, promoters and everyone behind the doors should stop being so greedy, you still making millions either way... and could you imagine the cotto vs margarito rematch on cbs or something like that... see very easy ways were to improve the sport of boxing, you dont need a harvard degree... you just have to be unselfish:D and boxing is not dying fellas...
