    Classic!!

    :happy

Seriously tho, its simple why both Calzaghe - Jones and Hopkins - Pavlik did bad PPV numbers.

The economy here is awful...spending $50 on a fight when people ARENT scared if they will be employed next week is one thing...when they are, it opens up a whole new can of worms.

I also attest Hopkins low numbers to the fact that people just felt it was a give in that he was gonna get killed (and that the undercard was attrocious)....and that most people, even casual fans, know that Jones has been done for quite some time now.

You add in all of those factors and you get what you got...people scared to spend money on anything (trust me I run a retail business), let alone a PPV boxing event.

With DLH, you have a different set of circumstances. He has a RABID fan base who would buy a PPV of him fighting Laila Ali (Pac's following is quite large as well). Add in the intrigue of Manny being the p4p #1 guy, moving up and fighting a legend and you get what you got.

I think Hopkins next fight will do very well despite of this because of all the people who were pissed they missed out on a fantastic performance (lets hope the undercard doesnt blow ass this time). A few friends of mine felt this way...Im sure we either all know a few as well...or are a few as well.

    Pictures were funny! Nice 1!

Bet you didn't know Enzo Calzaghe is a retired mafia don who's wanted in Sicily for multiple homicides and is a nephew of Mussolini. What a *******!

Seriously though....what a ******ed thing for someone to say. Blaming Calzaghe for a lull in viewing figures for boxing?? That'll be due to a recession, some recently poor PPV fights and the increase in popularity of MMA. Calzaghe has increased viewing figures Worldwide for his fights. WTF??

For those that don't understand the meaning of the original reference the guy is talking about the way that Calzaghe flailed around like a ****** trying to hit Bernard Hopkins for 12 rounds. The White guy humping dance didn't go over well with the American audience either. Calzaghe looked like a homosexual Jim Carrey with no personality - and that's when he was fighting. This is a country that loves athletes that can dunk a basketball from 10 feet away, and run over nine 300 pound guys scoring a touchdown. Super athletes. Calzaghe badly embarrassed boxing that night. No opinions about it. Word of mouth killed us on that one. I'm as ashamed as the rest of us. Nobody even talks about it..

That girl in your avatar is unreal. Made me forget about boxing. These gorgeous girl avatars are distracting but I'm not complaining!

I just saw "the light" US didn't want to see Hopkins ATG losing to a Wales/EU-trash fighter. Now i know why Kessler don't get invited. He could actuly beat some US-fighters to!!
