Hatton is a pressure fighter but have you seen anyone went toe-to-toe w/ Pac & won?!

I'm a big Hatton fan - though not a fan of the bulk of his fans - but don't like this fight at the moment. what he had leading upto and including the tzsyu fight was superior head movement and great footwork. the footwork has returned in fitsand starts, but the head movement (and actually great balance) haven't, and I think this has wrecked his punch resistance - he gets hit flush, rather than just brushed, so much more now. If I had to bet, I'd just about go for Hatton because I like what Mayweather's trying to do with him, but I wouldn't be shocked if he's lost too much now.

Hatton at the moment, in British terms, is the new Naz: coulda, shoulda, just fell short. Though Naz, despite being a ****, should be a HoF lock; Hatton isn't.

Pacquiao didn't seem entirely comfortable taking the few punches he did against the bigger De La Hoya. A single body shot shook his whole frame, and Pacquiao committed entirely to defense in most cases anything was incoming. Against Morales and Marquez he got exploited by compartmentalizing offense and defense and using them as seperate modes. Pacquiao got banged up when those guys would brawl, just like they did.

Pacquiao has been showing off alot of flashy counterpunching in his last few performances - against David "The ******" Diaz and a pathetically decrepid De La Hoya mind you.. Trying to counter Hatton is not nearly as easy as people tend to believe. It took Mayweather 10 rounds to do it properly, and it took Lazcano and Collazo, the other guys to seriously hurt Hatton 11 and 12 rounds to set up the damaging shots - after Hatton was already exhausted and careless.

Hatton is physically probably the strongest at 140...he can bully Pac on the inside and he has enough speed to make it uncomfortable for Pac on the outside...i favor Hatton in this one on styles....

Hatton is at his best weight at 140, still Pac should be able to take whatever he throws, but we're not sure how Hatton will react to Pac's punches at 140, if Hatton can put up a high workrate and take whatever Pac throws he's got a shot. Still I think Pac wins a UD.

We're not sure how either guy will take the other's power. Nobody is. To say that Pacquiao can take Hatton's power is a heavily foregone conclusion.

However....Magee managed to do it early, Urango took 5 rounds and that changed the whole dynamic of that fight, Phillips sorta buzzed him a handful of times early. :think There have been times its gone the other way and Ricky has actually done better as the fight wore on.

I do agree with you point overall though..Ricky can smother an attack quite well and cut your work with a hell of a lot of his own.

This is will a top fight and a true test for Pac...and Ricky for that matter.

Your not wrong..different context I feel though...Sanchez was a dirty mofo, fouling the **** out of Pac..Also back in the day when Pac's skills werent as developed.

50/50 fight for me aswell...Ill be going for Pac and I think he can win it...But if I was a betting man Id probably be slightly leaning towards Hatton at this stage.

If only it was as simple as that, Mayweather worked for the opportunities to throw those punches by outsmarting Hatton from the inside and generally being "cute" with his counterpunches. He didn't just pop up, land 2 left hands and drop Hatton, mostly the slots for those shots only becomes avaliable after you've worked for them round after round.
