I think Anyone with a defence an ok footwork would probably beat this guy. No doubt he has certain skills and power but he offers nothing to the world scene. I wonder how he would handle Thaxton? That clash of style would be an interesting match up and due to Khan being scared of Thaxton it may be a good opportunity for the old man if he wins or loses against Romanov.

P.S when is Thaxton vs Romaov II?

I know its a really easy comparison to make...but he really does look like the next Miranda. So similar in many ways.

Thaxton vs Romanov II will most likely be March time - it goes to purse bids shortly.

I am not convinced that it will happen - having not seen the first episode I cannot comment, but the word is that Jono was copping a bad beating.

Romanov won't be high on the wanted list for any of the elite names - but wants to win a world title. Campbell is tied up, not sure about the WBC, JMM is fighting Diaz....

It may be a stay busy exercise for him, nothing more.

Why is Thaxton fighting Romanov again?

The guy is just going to get beat up again. He was deluding himself when he was saying he was just getting into the fight.

prescott just looks a bottom half of the top 10 sort.

    difficult to tell.

hopefully prescott can get a meaningful opponent lined up soon. :hey

shame romanov is going over old ground.

romanov-prescott would be a good fight for sanctioning body rankings. :bbb

Thaxton should vacate the title in a blatant show of ducking!

Try and fight somebody vunerable to his power and unorthodoxy. Khan or Murray.

Just because Prescott looked poor in one fihgt doesn't mean he is poor.

There is only video of the Abril and Khan fights. He looked bad in one and awesome in the other.

We'll have to see. He's certainly given his career a boost.

For all we know he could be another Celestinio Caballero and many of us will have seen how average Caballero looked vs Lacierva. But when Caballero went into backyards of dangerous opponents (De Leon, Sithchatchawal, Molitor), he delivered the goods.

Well yeah. If you are a power puncher that is not very refined or precise yet of course you would rather fight somebody that will come to you and leave openings. Kinda like Khan did...

But the reality is not everybody will do that. There are some good boxers at lightweight that are going to make him look like a clown if does not improve his footwork and overall technique.

He is after a world title though - the EBU is a vital bargaining tool, especially with the WBC.

Even though he is, in truth, a paper champion because Romanov vacated.

Yeah...I guess I'd just rather he was thinking using my logical brain than his own delusional one. How are you going to fight for a world title in the strongest division if you can't even beat the European champ?

If he really must fight Romanov he should take his beating and then try and finally get Khan in the ring. Or go for the British title again. Or more likely just retire. World title dreams seem a bit far fetched at this stage. I even give Prescott a far greater chance of that.
