I'm just slightly stressed from Christmas shopping. I was thinking about the Nelson-Whitaker fight for some reason. So ignore my previous above.

Probably not watching the fight or cheating. One or the other.

The judges that had Jorge Paez beating Troy Dorsey have to be amongst the worst. They kust have been dazzled by Paez' glittery trunks. What was their scoring criteria- Effective Fashion Statement? :huh

Marcos Torres scoring Gomez a two-point winner over Rocky Lockridge. He was suspended for a year afterwards- making his comeback on a Don King card (of course).

Jerry Roth scoring for Big George over Axel Schulz. Roth seems to have received a few suspicious brown envelopes for many of his fights.

We can add that numpty that gave Valuev 8 out of 12 rounds against Holyfield.

I'm hearing that the Holyfield/Valuev fight was ungodly boring.

Typical uninformed bull**** or what? Did Holyfield look decent and decisively beat Valuev?

Whatever you think about Valuev he is one of the best heavyweights in the world.

    Bit of an obscure one.

Damaen Kelly - Simone Maludrottu I

Beat Hausmamun scored it 118-110 for Maludrottu, but in all honesty Kelly wiped the floor with the guy; I still can't believe he lost that fight:patsch

The guy who had it 116-112 for Valuev tonight is a fast rising contender.

How about Joe Cortez scoring Michael Spinks vs. Eddie Davis 119-109 in a fight that could have gone either way? Ass clown.

Larry Hazzard's 118-111 in the same fight was hardly any better. Appalling scoring. :-(

At the end of the fight, had I known that there would be three capable honest judges judging the fight, I'd have staked my life that the decision would go Holyfield's way.

.......but knowing the place and the circumstance of the fight, I knew better.

The one thing decent about Holyfield's showing was the way he manuevered the ring on his toes lateraling around the Giant.

......and even though most of the rounds were clear as day Holyfield.....what was lacking in those Holyfield rounds were an ability to put an exclamation mark in the last seconds of those rounds and make certain that even a corrupt judge could'nt judge it any other way.

The Holyfield gameplan was spot on for him. It was virtually the same gameplan he used vs Big George minus the workrate.

I can't believe Divac only has one post in this thread. ;)

Another one: Rodolpho Hill- who scored a very close Pedroza-Lockridge contest: 149-139

Jeff Fenech vs Azumah Nelson I for WBC super featherweight title (1991):

    Judges and their scores:
    Jerry Roth 115-113 | Dave Moretti 114-114 | Miguel Donate 112-116.

Comments: Can't believe Moretti. But Donate was at a different fight - perhaps on a different planet!

This fight was close and I had Nelson two points up and could easily see Donate's point of view.... This fight is spun as robbery by the media and by the passionate Fenech fancy, but IMO it was not, Nelson was cute, and did a job.
