Who would pay to watch it? And from what I'm reading in these threads, Holyfield can't get sanctioned in the US. This was just crap all the way around.:deal
I hav'nt seen the fight but it sounds like Valuev held back A LOT so it was'nt a legit fight anyway. How can you call it a robbery when the champion cleary chose not to batter the old man? Did Holyfield have a hope in hell if Valuev came for a legit fight? It sounds like he didn't so who cares that Holyfield did'nt get his fixed BS win.
It is a shame!!!!! I saw the fight on German TV. It was a robbery! A bad day of boxing. Evander Holyfield is the new WBA Champion! He makes history!!! Valuev now should fight against Wladimir Klitschko! Sauerland & Co are a shame for the sport of boxing.
No, it had nothing to do with Valuev holding back...... Holyfield basically fought the same game plan that he used vs George Foreman eons ago, but without the high workrate....... .....constantly moving to his laterals, and 2 and 3 times per round engaging and landing clear effective two and threes....... The lateral movement by Evander kept Valuev offbalance and unable to even guage his jab on Holyfield. It was'nt so much that Evander looked like a capable championship fighter, but more that Valuev was clueless as to what to do against lateral movment and an experienced fighter like Holyfield that knows the in's and outs of angling to gain a punching advantage.. Holyfield was quicker and faster......landed more, landed cleaner, and landed more effectively.......that in turn should have spelled an easy to score UD for Evander Holyfield.......unfortunately, its a corrupt sport that we watch. Its not a black eye to the sport, because the sport has been long past it that its immune to getting black eyes. Knowleadgeable observers have come to expect these corrupt decisions.
Now honestly can anyone fault a fighter for not wanting to fight over seas ?? This was a dam shame Holy should have that strap !!
