I've watch boxing since I was a kid and the great history and great matchups over the years make it a great sport inded. But with boxing it's more of watching old fights in your collection rather then what the future is. nowadays fighters only want "big money fights" So that gives us fights like Evander-Valuev, B-Hop-pavlik, Jones-Calzaghe.etc Guys like PBF are fighting ODL for big money rather then fighting bigger threats like Margarito or cotto. Not to mention the promoters and corrupt ABC's can turn a person off the sport.

As much as you hate the UFC dana has takin the blueprint form the probs in boxing and trying to prevent that from happening in the UFC. Promoters all have self interst first and the integrity of the sport is what suffers.

But none the less i will always watch boxing.

I don't see the big problem here, I mean boxing is by far my favorite but I love watching MMA or especially K-1 max fights.

Thats true i do spend alot of time watching old fights. The problem though is more a lack of the great matchups being made as well as a very weak glamour division. The UFC does make some good matchups but there fighters get paid peanuts in comparison. The fights are made as because thats whats good for the UFC. Addtionally the UFC is ONE organisation. Boxing is a sport and is not run by one organisation and thus all promoters and sanctioning bodies have there own interests at heart. As much as there is solidarity in the UFC in terms of the bouts made there payscale doesnt compare at all and i believe this may be there demise. Personally i dont see how this helps the future of the sport which is very apparent with boxing. There are easier ways to make a living and hence why alot of the talent is either in the NFL or the NBA.

I must admit that I probably spend more time watching old boxing fights than watching old MMA fights.

After watching Holyfield-Valuev I definatley love boxing more:-(

but to answer the original question, i have been migrating to MMA more and it seems every year is getting better for MMA while boxing is still bleeding itself to death.

Tonight was disgusting. Number 1 Holy should never be given a license to fight for his own protection. He appealed against his ban and subsequently his been fighting ever since. The judges decision was nothing short of disgraceful and Valuevs performance was indicative of the freak show that he is.

I love both sports. But if I had to choose one, it would have to be MMA.

Yeah, Pride was the best MMA organization in my opinion. I loved the GPs and the atmosphere. Everything about Pride was awesome. Except for some of the wacky match-ups they would come up with. Like Zulu vs. Fedor, Rodrigo vs. Sapp :huh.

It was interesting, yes. But Sapp did not deserve to fight Nog. I also loved the 10 minute first rounds.

me personally because i started out doing karate and then wrestling and then bjj and then boxing as well i have like spent the last 4 years of my life obsessed with mma i have to go with that boxing is good too just starting as an mma fan and then going to boxing it lacks the excitment for me. i still like watching just i donno it dosnt seam that with the ten count that there is really one punch away from the end of the fight. or there isnt takedowns of subs so its not like anything can happen at any moment thats one of the things i love about mma
