What double standards?

Floyd nut huggers like making fights that don't exist. The opening post of this thread sent a warning to AM fans - Well I read the source and there was mention of a guy he brutally stopped and way naturally smaller guy.

I would like Floyd to come back to fight Welterweights, that is my preference and a far more interesting challenge than either of the other two.

I'm sure if Floyd was available when the Mosley fight was being considered, then Floyd would have had an opportunity there too.

Floyd only wants a soft touch - Then that's fine, as a boxing fan - I'd like to see him take a Margaritto or Williams or Cotto.

Hey - Williams has a 154 lbs belt as well - Why not just fight him?

 

And its a waste of time to call out the guy with a major title in his weigt class? That took the O of another awesome fighter in a fight that had more excitement in it since Floyd fought Corrales?

Gee - I must be some kind of crazy person to want o see a competitive boxing match!

The only name there worth mentioning is Williams and even he is someone Margarito SHOULD fight, not Mayweather. The Mosley case is a very popular one and was considered/offered, Mosley is the one that turned it down to make the DLH/Mayweather fight instead, then Mosley went on to lose to Cotto and all of a sudden is a worthy challenger for Margarito for unknown reasons instead of Williams who is offering double the amount.

You serious about even mentioning Cotto or just padding your list?, want me to pop up images of his last fight to wake you up?

One of the best fights right now is Manny Pacquiao, if not then Paul Williams is a name worth mentioning though it's a name Margarito SHOULD be fighting, not Mayweather.

I am sure they would, but they haven't done **** in the 2 years floyd has been away I have serious doubts they will do anythng once he comes back other then beg for a fight:deal

 

Mate - It's like this -

Floyd is an awesome fighter - I don't wana huff his dong like many others seem too - But he's awesome.

Pacquiao - As amazing as he is - Is too small and not a good fight for Floyd to come back because all the haters should Pac loose point to how he's the naturally smaller guy and that if Mayweather got caught and lost it would be due to retirement or something - It's a loose loose.

Floyd left the game as the 147 lbs boss - All I want is for him to fight a top echelon 147 fighter - Which regardless of your opinion of Margaritto - He is one of them. As is Williams, as is Cotto or Clottey - I don't want to see Floyd fight smaller guys or guys he's KO'd before - There's no point.

I want to see the best fight the best - Not pad their wallets.

This is why boxing is "dying" as Calzaghe puts it - Its because we've all been burnt by crappy money events and not the best fights.

Now no matter what you think of Margaritto - At least he had that fight this year. He's also had tough fights with Williams and Clottey - But at least they were fought and all entertaining fights above and beyond the Jones Jnr or Hopkins V Calzaghe fight.

Floyd should only come out for a challenge - Not to pay of his tax bill for the year at the expense of a smaller guy. Either Pac or Hatton.

The same thing was said before the DLH fight and that fight can be held as proof if this fight is good enough or not. Fact is, people want this fight and based on Pacquiao's performance this isn't one-sided and a very competitive fight, a far better/bigger fight than one against Margarito or Cotto. Not to forget that Pac is P4P#1 right now.

Yet there's point in Margarito fighting a guy he KO'd before in Cotto?

Listen, it's like this. My opinion of Margarito has nothing to do with the fact that he LOST to Williams and is running away from a rematch for far lesser money. This isn't opinion I'm creating, it's a fact and in boxing these facts matter A LOT when it comes to making megafights. Compared to everyone else, Pacquiao is the best available option, if not then Williams. A Cotto coming off a battering and Margarito running away from a rematch with yet another fighter that beat him doesn't even compare.

Fact is, that's the fight the majority want to see. If you would prefer another then that's your opinion but the majority want the Pacquiao fight as proven many times already and that's what matters most.

Also after the stunning performance by Pacquiao over DLH I can't really say it's only money.

Funny how Calzaghe comes up with this when he's the one who came off a failing PPV against a shot to death RJJ. Whoever says Pac vs Mayweather is a crappy PPV is delusional.

So what?, if Margarito's main fights is beating Clottey/Cotto and losing to Williams then Mayweather is already established and has accomplished far more than all of these guys combined. The only one to compare right now, if not ahead, is Manny Pacquiao.

Now that Hatton got iced he's a smaller guy, but the interest before the fight means nothing, sure.

Smaller guy or not, Hatton was a former Welterweight champion before he fought Mayweather, getting KO'd was Mayweather's style rather than Hatton's size. You make it sound like the difference is huge, it was hardly noticeable during the fight. The fight with Pacquiao is what everyone would prefer to see and for obvious reasons, it's called resume. Pacquiao's resume wipes the floor with Cotto's, Margarito's and Williams'.

This is how it works, whether you approve of it or not Pacquiao already proved he's a legitimate threat and can possibly pull it off.

 

It's hilarious, these guys make it sound like Mayweather 7 ft tall fighting midgets when in reality Margarito's major wins came over far smaller guys and that's his career defining wins we're talking about yet Mayweather fights bigger guys it means nothing. atsch

 

Margo fans want the whole ****ing world to stop and line up to fight Margarito...

He deserves the payday against Oscar.
He deserves the payday in the rematch against Cotto (who he alrady stopped).
He deserves the payday against Floyd.
He deserves the payday against Shane (Bad idea, by the way)

He is not the only deserving guy out there. He can't have ALL the ****in superfights. Damn!
