I see you still have Floyd's nutsack in your mouth. There are MANY fighters who would hand Floyd his ass over 15 rounds. At welter, Hearns might kill him, SRL, and SRR would just mangle and embarrass him. (And Danny ain't Mexican. If you had been following boxing for more than 3 weeks, you'd probably know that.)
Has anybody said 'weve been here before' yet....? Anyway Leonard wins....because he's Ray Leonard.....and happy Christmas and new year mate:good
At welter, Mayweather isn't going to win. Leonard may have lost to the smaller man in Duran, but...that was DURAN, Jesus. Even then Leonard made him work for it, and gave him some very good shots back. To some of the people in the thread who are bringing up the Judah fight -- keep in mind, to be fair, that Mayweather wasn't actually using his usual style in that fight. He went into a tight high/peeking guard and tried to come towards Judah and engage on the inside, because Roger was telling him that Judah 'can't fight going backwards', something that I assume they mainly based on the Baldomir fight. Against Leonard, however, Mayweather wouldn't dare to try and weather the firepower with a high guard while looking to counter -- he would get ripped to shreds by smart combinations, and Leonard (unlike Judah) wouldn't tire or lose out in the skill department, either. It would be a terrible move, and Mayweather isn't stupid enough to have tried it. Mayweather would instead use his traditional shoulder-roll stance for this fight, and he'd try to use his defence to frustrate Leonard and counter him in the pocket. This strategy would unfortunately backfire, because Leonard not only has the speed to constantly upset Mayweather's poise, but also the intelligence to channel his skill appropriately. Notice how Judah genuinely stunned Mayweather for a few seconds (I THINK it was a jab-jab-jab-left straight, where the final punch connected and snapped Mayweather's head right back, but I'd need to check to make sure) but he couldn't exploit that moment because he's a terrible finisher. He smothers his own work (and telegraphs with massive, looping punches to boot) in his eagerness to get the job done. Leonard, however, is one of the best finishers I've seen -- he had carefully controlled killer instinct. Watch the way he goes after Hearns in their first fight; he takes him apart and even remembers to go to the body when he had Hearns against the ropes. That's what you call a dangerous fighter. Mayweather is pretty much screwed in this fight, to be honest. If he tries to turn it into an infight he's likely to be knocked out, when you consider the speed and power that Leonard had. Mayweather doesn't have enough power at welter to trouble Leonard either. And yet, if he goes for his usual defence game he just prolongs the inevitable, because Leonard is going to keep coming and firing. Mayweather will certainly get some good shots in, but Leonard will eventually close the range and when they're against the ropes/in the corner Mayweather will be hurting. Mayweather is an excellent fighter, but Leonard is just one level too far, especially considering the natural weight gap.
Who the **** said anything about 15 rounds dumbass. And why would it matter with a fighter with unlimited stamina and energy like mayweather. Jesus idiot, you ever watch a Mayweather fight before. He's only been the P4P number 1 for nearly 3 years. Been jacking off to old Duran tapes and not watching boxing lately? Kill him. :rofl:rofl:rofl Let me guess, you still watch saturday morning cartoons? Bet you believe superman is a real guy eh?
great post these guys hat little floyd for what he did in and outside the ring. they will never give him respect due. I pick floyd over ray in a close MD..floyd is just too skilled and is not feather fisted.
