Why does Khan get ALOT more hate because of it.
Yet people don't say the same **** about Dunne?

Nobody cares about Bernard Dunne. He isn't rammed down peoples throats or being arrogant.

yup, dunne had a little bit of hype, but he wasnt topping bills on his debut and he wasnt fighting on sky box office before he had left domestic level.

Khan was rammed down our throats, and it was pure karma to see him knocked out on his box office debut, and it serves those greedy *******s in rupert murdoch and frank warren right for thinking they could get away with it.

That isn't exactly Khans fault though.
Frank Warren was the one MAKING the bills.
And the **** thrown at Khan is a bit unfair.
Wouldn't it be strange if someone who won our only Olympic boxing medal (like Audley) didn't get hyped up like that. Because ALOT of the whole nation know who they are.

I actually agree with most of what you say, I don't really think that Khan is arrogant, he's just a bit thick and regurgitating what Frank has told him to say.

You would think that with all the criticism that Khan has taken any medalist from the olympics would sign pro with minimum fuss , and just get on with the job. Unfortunately it seems that DeGale has not learned the lesson and is bound to suffer the same hate fate as Amir....I hate the **** already. :blood

I guess its a case of "money talks". Being a big mouth arrogant type sells tickets, and helps pull in the Joe Public types who know next to nothing about boxing.

Khan is probably disliked by boxing fans because judging by his tone, he actually felt he could beat the likes of Hatton, Pacquiao and Mayweather.

Dunne was never spouting off saying he could beat Vasquez, Marquez etc.

The fact that he felt a Cuban amateur trainer could help him more than someone like Dean Powell, Oliver Harrison or Anthony Farnell didn't help either.

    :good Agree

I think that that is definately why boxing fans dislike him, but as I said, he is a bit of a thick twat and he probably believes everything that uncle Frank tells him...being thick is no reason to hate. :thumbsup

It isn't any suprise for people who don't follow boxing but will see that 'amir khan kid' him saying he can beat the champions is good publicity of course to boxing fans it pisses us off.
But it keeps him in the media spotlight which is EXACTLY what Frank Warren wants.

True. Martinez did a number on Dunne. Dunne wasn't hyped as much but then he didn't have the right to be because he didn't go into the pros as arguably the best amateur lightweight in the world.

because dunne wasnt claiming to go on to be a 3weight world champ after suffering knockdowns against guys who werent exactly p4p bangers,

dunne wasnt claiming to succeed great irish fighters like mc guigan and collins unlike amir who pissed off quite a lot of people by saying he wanted to fight hatton and would beat him also,

also dunne is not thick, khan has the intelligence of me after drinking 20 pints of guinness

all these things that show how different dunne is from khan although they are quite similar in the chin department

People dislike Khan because he appears to be a complete wanker. Plus all the other reason folk have already mentioned. Dunne lost while fighting for a good title but Khan lost while trying to improve his shoddy record against another bum.

Khan has gone ppv because HE believes that is what he is worth. Warren knows the only way he can keep Khan is by paying loads of money and that means the ppv's.

Thats my take on Khan. He's not arrogant, just a bit thick and believes all the BS he hears going on around him.
