No mismatch here. I'd pick Fatty in this one. I'd put money on it being a good fight to watch too. [YT]fxeC4jBoTi4[/YT]
no mismatch! hatton is a monster at 140! better than a weight drained oscar. depends on how much hattons slipping of punches will get between now and the fight. i see it as a toss of a coin and depends who implements their fight plan better
Because nobody thought Pacman could come up in weight as much as he did, while keeping his power, speed and stamina. That along with Pac's improved boxing skills changes the situation doensn't it ?
hatton cuts easy above the eyes and i can see the ref stopping this fight due to this, but if hatton manages to get pacman anywhere near the ropes then it will be good night pacman.
No way is this a mismatch. Manny may have the speed and power advantage along with his improved boxing skills, he has never been in with someone like Hatton, who will rough him up for the full 12 rounds and generally bully him. Not to mention that Pacquiao hasn't fought someone decent above 130 and Hatton is the best 140'lber in the world. I think Hatton takes a close UD in a very scrappy fight, but it could really go either way.
Although I think Pac's win over Oscar was a great achievement, I think it was fair to say that he was fighting a shot fighter. I strongly fancy Rick in this one. I don't think Manny will be able to employ the same in and out style with the pressure that Hatton brings. I also don't think that Manny is as good in the clinch, which may be very relevant IMO.

who cares if he hasn't faced great comp at 140..he is still pacman..still faster...still has more skills...he wins this fight easy....hatton will have to eat alot of punches before he can effectively hold pacman
I've got a little black book in which I am keeping all the names of people who make ****ing stupid predictions like this. I will be inviting you all to the official eat **** and die party after Hatton despatches the Pinoy dwarf in style.
That rule will also apply to you if Ricky will lose the fight. I will go for Pacman winning this fight under 12 rounds.
The only way that Pac wins this is by having Sleepy, Dopey and the rest of his little gang in the ring with him giving him a hand.
is it **** a mis-match. Hatton is a proven elite fighter who never, ever gives up. Mayweather may have won the fight fairly easily in the end but you can bet when he was in that ring with the Hitman he had to ba at 100% concentration and found it anything but easy. Pacquaio is undoubtebly a great fighter but beating Diaz and a half dead DLH is not an indicator that he will just walk through Hatton. This will be a huge test for him. I can't wait for thisd, i think it will be extremely close, extremely brutal and has the makings of a classic. If i had to bet on one of them it would be Pacquaio after several scares.
I think this fight will come down to the punch resistance of both men. Manny is far quicker and better skilled so if they were both natural 140 pounders then i think Manny wins relatively easily. However, Manny is not a natural 140 pounder and like i have pointed out before on here the hardest punches (or more importantly the hardest succession of punches over many rounds) Manny has ever taken is from a 130 lbs Marquez, Barrera and Morales. The slow Diaz and "walking corpse" DLH barely hit Manny. Hatton will hit Manny and quite often. If Manny can't take a punch of a natural 140 pounder or gets worn down easilly after taking punchers for a few rounds then Ricky will win, probably by stoppage. If Manny can take the shots and utilises his quick footwork to get away from Hatton and not get clinched by the bigger and stronger Hatton thus not getting worn out as quick then i think Many will win by a comfortable UD. Ricky's punch resistance should also factor in here. His ability to soak up punishment doesn't appear to be what it was. We can't take much from the Mallinaggi fight as Paulie didn't fight to well, didn't throw the right hand much and couldn't crack an egg even if he did throw the right. But from his fights before that Ricky doesn't seem able to walk through hard shots unfazed like he used to be able to. Now i don't think Pac hits that hard at these higher weights but he does hit often so if Pac can take Hattons shots and Ricky can't take the accumalative effective of Manny's then i believe Manny will stop him late on. Another likely scenario that could surface and i hope it doesn't is that Pac cuts Hattons face up and this huge fight is unfortunately decided by cuts. For me this fight is a real tough one to call. Ultimately i think the main deciding factor will be if Manny can take the naturally bigger mans shots. If he can then he wins. If he can't then he loses. Until they step into the ring no one knows.
