Recently watching Pacquiao, i noticed that while his biggest weapon is the straight left hand combined with fast footwork, he does a lot of little things that makes him very hard to beat. So on paper you could call him one-dimensional, but there is much more. Same goes to for instance Tyson who came forward, but in a smart way (unless clinched).

    Others that come to mind?

Is your Xmas thread going to be about the most skilled boxer who couldn't box Chris?

Roberto Duran springs to mind. He was more or less a come forward fighter throughout the 70's and 80's. The Hagler performance was the only one during that time period where he really 'hung back' at long range and was generally percieved to be somewhat boring. At times he constantly stormed forward (Buchanan and Palamino) effectively, and other times he took his time while doing so (De Jesus III and Leonard I)

Duran was pretty much a front-foot fighter. Sometimes running in 5th gear and at other times running in only 3rd, although effective in either mode.

Maybe the most well rounded and multi dimensional attacker that ever lived.

Actually I thought the author asked for one dimensional fighters or multi dimensional fighters. Gomez was my pick for the second option.

Roberto Duran is as good a pick as any for the real thread request - in his prime, that is.
